Seen this a few times. This is with 1.2 beta + RC_01

As you can see. four bullets penetrate the i16 pilot.

Back to the original question: The arrows only show the direction of the bullets when they impact the plane fuselage.

Thus, even though it looks like the bullet hit the pilot, the only thing you can use the arrow to show is the direction the bullet had when it impacted the plane. Probably stopped by an armor plate or something somewhere.
