I do not know whether this was accidental or on purpose, but the changes you made to 4.07 have helped make the AI fly slightly better. Specifically the unrealistic zooming high from no energy happens much less (I`ve only seen a small example once in 20 missions).

Perhaps you can work on this further for the final Patch?


1. Perhaps the AI tendency to barrel-roll spin continuously could be toned down too, so it looks like a Human is trying to fly the aircraft and is afraid of crashing into the ground or becoming exhausted by the constant spin? I think in reality a pilot would lose his wings or lose all orientation and possibly crash\ stall out. I`ve never seen such fast spins in actual guncam footage except when a fighter`s wing`s been explosively shot off.

2. Perhaps AI avoidance of Mountains\Hills on normal waypoint cruise could be improved? I know this may take more work and understand if not possible.

AI using a barrel role as an evasive tactic, for the time period that the game covers, is like seeing Napoleonic Soldiers employing IED's and suicide bombers.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Ace ai not longer has a sniper`s aim.

That change I find to be the best since ai`s elite gunnery made any evasion attamepts hopeless.

In an online 4071 mission I was following an AI yak when suddenly I was jumped by another yak from high `11.All I heard was a zoom and guns.

In 4.05m/4.07 it would have been a PK for sure.

I find current beta AI to have trouble with finding perfect firing solutions at high speeds and medium distances whereas at 50m he will pepper me with most of his ammo for sure.

IMO it is quite closer to being realistic than 4.05/4.07 AI.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Number 2 has problems given the way they will address fixing it. Right now (at least for the US bombers) they gave the AI a hard floor of 140m, even the VTs. Proper mission design/testing can fix most of the running into hills nonsense, but instead we have the AI tuned to not allow realistic attacks.

Man, I wish the B-25s and A-20s would do proper low level attacks. Guess it's good we don't have a proper NG map since the planes are incapable of flying SOP 5th AF tactics, no matter what you do to trick the AI.

Oddly, I can get the AI to act properly as long as the targets are friendly in many cases. We need to have whatever that difference in behavior is as a toggle for waypoints: "ignore all enemy objects flying rules: on/off"
