Ok? For long enough now.

Little or no interest, has been expressed on this aircraft.

Was it?

Of.

(1)No interest to the. Allies.
(2) An obvious. Leap forward in the design of high altitude. Bomber/Recon aircraft
(3) Just another "NAZI" dead end?
(4) Another. [Plane that had the Era of piston engines not have died) Been. "pretty Neat"

One has to wonder. That having had so little written about it .

That this plane could have been a lasting proposition?

A High altitude fighter/bomber/recon. Aircraft.

We could have been looking at the last allrounder?

Why was it not included?(Far less, The 188?)

There is a big book about it I just saw on a av book list today. What can you say about it except promising but cancelled because Hitler disestablished all but the jet bomber Gruppen. Thank goodness no time was wasted on it in 46. We should have had a flyable He 177 for laughs since they were used in greater numbers on the E Front than anywhere else in mid-summer 1944.

What the hell? Seriously, why not a major flight sim just devoted to "never beens"? I'd get it if it had a really imaginative selection. 46 Was a joke because it had German "never beens" mixed with 1948 Sov service aircraft.

You are, at it again! Gunz!

Nothing to contribute to the subject.
But anything you can grasp on, to try and belittle the poster.

Try again. With something more meaningful

Can you? Without resorting to a "Search".

Not trying to belittle you, just. having. trouble. reading, your,
posts.

I didn't add anything, didn't try to sneak @#!+ past your @$$ whatsoever.

Can - you - organize - your - thoughts - into - whole - sentences - ?
It's
not
hard,
just
read what, you, wrote
and
go. back. over

and edit the post until it makes clear sense.

You have all those books you've read, are ANY of them written in pieces of sentences?

How am I to relate to your experience with ALL THOSE BOOKS when you show such communication
problems? Do you understand that is real? Or will you post about being 'attacked' which
shows how much you don't understand?

The Ju-388 seems rather un-remarkable in every way other then high alt performance. Not very impressed.

What could the Ju 388 do that a twin stage Merlin Mosquito couldnt do? The fact that a bogstandard Spitfire could intercept and shoot one down at 44,000ft doesnt impress me that much. Fw 190s and Bf 109s couldnt catch PR Mosquitos at all.

boemher, are you serious about that one???

what that stuff could do (but has it done it a lot??naaaan! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ) : flying at more than 11.000meters with the speed of a fighter at this altitude. What fighter-plane could go at
this altitude with this speed except the 262?the spits were mostly equipped with low alt engines and the poney above 11000m began to loose his power...so?
It's a logical question, not a flame! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

P-80? Capped out at 46K. Me-262 capped out well below 40,000 feet.

Then there is that other Lockheed. The P-38 could fly at 44,000 ft.

I just finished reading Clostermann's 'The Big Show' not long ago - is the Ju388 not the high-alt bomber he talks of early in the book?

He says that the bomber, although it could carry a payload of only one (5oolb?) bomb* - the fact that it flew at such extreme altitudes meant that the Germans could bomb, albeit nuisance bomb, with impunity. A fact the Germans derived great propaganda value from!

However it's career ended with the advent of the Mk.VII Spit!

*i'm aware that some of Clostermann's technical knowledge at the time was incorrect - a fact he readily admits in his new edition and in which he decides to leave his original assertions as they stand...
