Geopolitics aside, Israel sure knows how to send a clear message (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,201377,00.html) to the opposition.

wow... an enemy force can do a fly over atop your palace and you are helpless to stop it. Game over....go back to sneaky fighting because you cannot win a standup one.

I just hope we're not heading towards something like WW3. A no-win situation, no matter how you look at it.

Israel is at the top of the game. However you stand on the politics and such, you have to respect the Israeli's. They know how to do things. Hamas should be scared. I am, and I am not even involved.

I hope it all works itself out in a most peaceful manner. The whole mideast thing is a mess.

It is a bit frightening and this type of thing always makes me a little nervous. If Hamas kills the soldier....will Israel attack Syria? If they don't kill him they will look like cowards, the fly over did send a message, but, it could start a war. Was it the right thing to do? I think so, it is one ugly web that could get REALLY messy. We've seen these type of things before and they ended somewhat peacefully. Here is hoping.

Could it turn into WWIII? On one side I see Syria, Iran, Jordan, AND a bunch of crazy no nationality fighters. On the other side you would have atleast Israel and the United States. Unless India and Pakistan get involved I see an ugly war but not a world war. Am I wrong?

If Israel really knew what to do, they'd learn from the last 35 years that peace cannot pressed with tanks.

Once the tanks are drawn back, the hate and anger caused by this attack will sumit in even more terrorist attacks. Won't be different this time, trust me...

I think Politically there is a fairly strong false assumption being presented:-

That is that Hamas or Hassad are actually in a position to stop or influence in any way the disparate Islamic groups to start with.

Isral could demand that Hamas stop the bombing (as they did Arrafat for years) but in reality they are not actually in a position to stop them !

As for people guessing if Israel thinks they know what they're doing or getting themselves into...well they wouldn't have built up a military as they do now if they weren't going to use it.

The Isreali experience with giving peace a chance (surrendering) resulted in the final solution of WW2. Peace has no chance when only one side wants it.

the last time the Syrians took on Isreal, the score in the air was 83 zip. Syria is no longer a serious military contender to Isreal. Thier sponsors in the Soviet Union are gone. Any "war" with Isreal will be a one sided disaster for Syrians.

and jordan is an ally of the US (most of the time).

It is not a privilege, it is a right for a child to have an education.
And it is an International Crime if ANYONE restricts education on a child.

It is not a "right" to have an education. Rights are products of laws and legislation. One might think that everyone has a "right" to an education, but that is not the case. In an ideal world that would be great. But in an ideal world people don't hate and kill others by strapping bombs to themselves. That whole situation is messed up.

It really sucks.
