"Besides that I went through training as a diversionary group commander: explosives, hand to hand combat, fought dogs. Yes! Yes! We put on gloves, coats, and fought dogs"

Thats dedication for you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Theres some other good interviews on that site also with Russian tank crews. Quite scary stuff.

Now this is one of the good reasons it`s worth coming on this forum! Amazing stuff and I`ve never seen those IL2 recon shots before - adds another dimension to the whole Eastern Front War (in IL2 and R/L). Interesting to note that ground vehicles are NOT that easy to see, and the IL2 can`t be all that high up, even taking into account this is old B\W 1940s footage.

p.s. lots of great words here like the Pilot`s quote on attacking an airfield.
"If someone says it wasn't scary -- they're lying. The moment of expectation was the scariest and most unpleasant "

That`s exactly the same for me. The most unnerving moment I find is the moment JUST BEFORE I go into action (the moment of expectation) after that it`s work! (In a flight sim way of course, obviously worse for the REAL pilot!)

Thanx anyway.
