I believe if you down loaded the stand alone all you will get is what would be compatible with the PF game. Being that PF is the American vs Japanees you would only get the P 47.

If you have the merged then you would also get the Yak and the new map.

Stop with the CapsLock. It's considered rude and will not get you any help if you continue using it.

You can order the FB+AEP "Gold Pack" for about $30 (or even less if you look around). I saw one copy priced at $20 in a local EB Games just last week. I understand that you may not be 'dripping with money' but ask yourself if the cost to upgrade to merged version is not worthwhile, especially if you're already upset that you didn't get the Yak-7 for Pacific Fighters.

You do get a lot for your money with the FB+AEP combo. In my opinion it gives you the best looking maps in the series plus a ton of interesting planes to fly including biplanes, bombers, jet fighters and rockets. I'll give you the short list of just the flyables and maps that will be added to your PF by installing "Gold Pack":

As to inavailability of "Gold version"

I was really shocked finding out there is Forgotten Battles Gold Version in sales in Tesco store here in Prague, Czech Republic, Forgotten Central Europe.

It is for CZK 990, roughly 33 EUR.

PF is the same price, also available.

As usual, we are 1/2 year back with availability of our favourite game so actually there was no chance it would get sold out becuse it is freshly on the shelves.... OMG http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

If anybody wants to get it from here PM me, we can sort it out somehow.

No V2's in PF standalone. I've just ordered FB Gold pack for $29.99....Although i've yet to play FB, the screenies i've seen suggest the same quality as PF. As far as gameplay goes, i've been assured that's it's gonna rock hard http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

PF standalone and PF merged have the same graphics. They are actually both available as options in your install menu. You can install both versions if you like, but not much reason to.

In order to install PF as a 'merged' you need to have FB+AEP (or "Gold Pack") already installed on your computer. Then PF is actually an expansion pack.

The V2 rocket and other 'exclusive' items are targetted towards the FB+AEP side of the sim. They are also nice little bones thrown to us folks who have been with the series since the beginning and have bought into all three titles. Personally I was a little irritated that most of the western fighters from AEP were repackaged for PF standalone, but the exclusives in the PF 'merged' patches have balanced that out in my opinion. Now you can get FB+AEP for less than I paid for AEP alone, so stop complaining. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

PF merged is the same core game engine and graphics engine as PF standalone, but it includes content (by being added on to) the combine Forgotten Battles/Aces Expansion Pack install. The only difference is extra planes and maps that come in the earlier games but not in the standalone PF pack.

By the way, there are no paid employees here ('cept the commmunity manager when he puts in an appearance). Any information you get here is purely on a voluntary basis by other players of the game. Sometimes it can take a day or two before someone who knows the answer stumbles across your question, so just be patient http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
