The other side after a few (maybe 20 or 30) flights raiding spits and 109's and other full real servers, me and my friend decided to try something new and we hoped into the world of the offline caimpaign.

I know the AI sucks, and takes no skill to do nail them, but ,jesus, it was the most funniest thing we did that day.

so we kind of got into this world of online caimpaigns and did a couple of missions in some of the available caimpaigns.

One of the most promissing ones was the coral sea caimpaign. We were hoping htat the fact taht we could control task force heading and plane number and type selection would allow us to have some tactical gameplay.

From here borns my first and most fulcral set of questions:

- both sides start with aprox. 110 planes, and exactly 2 carriers + 3 warships
1. can we change this numbers?
2. the start postion is random either cabn be 250 km apart as 50 km apart. is there any way to set a specific start spot?
3. in the firt mission i shot down 3 zeros and RTB, and he shot down 3 avengers + 1 f4f and got KIA. neverthless plane numbers kept the same... no plane lost info.... this was dissapointing.

finally: is there any other third party made online caimpaigns for download that you know about?

i know this might not be a very playd game-style i hope those who do enjoy this can help me out.

thank you in advance

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I have been wondering how the heck to host an online campaign? If you could tell me this I will be grateful.

Pupo,

You could always join a squad that competes in an online wars. There are many, such as SEOW, Forgotten Skies, Air Domination War, Airforce War, il2war, etc.

Online campaigns are great. I presume you just use the standard NGEN.exe campaign engine which comes with IL-2 itself. If so, make sure to visit the following site for a 3rd party campaign engine with downloadable campaigns:

http://www.lowengrin.com

This engine is called "DCG" (Dynamic Campaign Generator" and a lot of creative people add new campaigns regularly (including modded ones).

If you still have the standard IL-2 v4.08 version, you can also try out some of these DCG-based online campaigns on a server called Na_Kane_Pono. It runs DCG in the background and you can select from a variety of campaigns as a user, not need to host the missions yourself, see the selection here:

i tried DCG and dindt like it missions were very repetitive and were kind of odd:

i remenber taking off with a group of 20 or so 109's so we could escort another 20 109's and got intercepted by a few tb3's and in our way back we found our runway being strafed by some russions fighters were there was nthing to strafe.

i'll be lookinf for tghese server based thign now and give feedabck later.
