Hello,

I have just bought two albums of signatures of pilots, and I just wondered if anyone has seen anything like this before, I certainly havent.

There are two albums covered in blue leatherette, with the RAF crest in gold on the front of each. One album is for Fighter Command, and the other Bomber Command.

Inside each is a message from Douglas Bader on the 40th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The following page is a fact sheet for Fighter/Bomber Command, the third page is a summary of aircraft types used by that Command.

The follow some 26 pages in each album filled with pilots folios, their photo, and their autograph in pencil (there is a certificate of authenticity from the Bader Foundation for each). Heres a sample:

All I can say is lucky dog. Take good care of that. I would have it evaluated by Christie's:

Very good care of them will be taken.

Very strangely, I just found the Fighter Command album on an American site http://www.leisuregalleries.com/rafalbum.html

And then I eventually found them on a another site, seems I have two more to collect! http://www.aceshigh-uk.com/pinfo/854

Seems I made a bit of a smart investment! Not that I intend to part with them.

Good grief---you hit the jackpot! Cheers, Green With Envy

I made a little find a year or so ago---I hunted down and paid well for the finest P-47 history by Bode. When I received it, I discovered a little sheet from the P-47 pilots' association with the signatures of the late Bob Johnson and Francis Gabreski. Seems the book dealer didn't bother to find out who they were, and I, as they say, made a "killing." Won't part with that.
