1940 + 70 = when?

1st anniversary is 1941, 10th is 1950, how is 2009 the 70th?

So May of next year we should be expecting PC specs? Thats what 3 Mays in a row now? I also read that they are working on modeling the skeletal movements of the pilots, wonderful. Whats next? Is he going to model how much breakfast the pilot had and if that has some effect on fatigue or nausea/vomiting? How about visibility when a bug hits the windshield and gets splattered all over it. I'm sure there are a million ideas out there. Enough with the CPU sucking oddities, just release it already.

It seems like Oleg isn't to keen on the proposed name of the game (from a different online translation):

OLEG:

"I'm on the throat of affairs. Work now boils in the big lake, instead of flows a cool streamlet.
In general the separate site is done (at last). But it that till now would not be defined with the final name of the series is a problem...'SoW': I personally do not really like, although it is already registered to the publisher in the west (and the publisher has not changed ... ). ).

But if it is to be solved, I am afraid in truth not so soon; the site at the moment will stay with the forum in English and Russian. "

Oleg also zeroed in on this, and answered that it will not be two years away (scroll down):Oleg quote (http://72.14.221.132/translate_c?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/showthread.php%3Ft%3D52383%26page%3D69&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&usg=ALkJrhjxD8Vz3j4WoSfBPxmbpQwN0M-bEw):

It was interesting to read Oleg saying that the publisher is still Ubisoft. We should learn more in the SimHq interview that will be posted in the next few days.

This was posted at SimHq today by quod .

"An update. Interview and new images received. It'll be out in the next few days.

Question: Meanwhile the yellow bourgeois stamping their feet in anticipation of new game?

I have the most cases of sore throat in history.

Poor Oleg. Nothing like rabid Flight Sim fanatics.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif why can't he get things translated properly,he creates more confusion and double guessing by attempting to get a half baked message over. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I'm not really that interested in seeing a few more blue screen wip models taken from the object viewer. I'm not especially interested in the "we're considering this and that" pseudo-updates that usually come out either. It has been such a very long time now that I struggle to find much enthusiasm for SoW at all.

If there were solid evidence that Maddox games was in the black financially and operating with a decent amount of staff, that would be an update I could really take to heart. Looking back on the history of the Il-2 series, most of the projects seem to have been a barely controlled f*ck up from a business standpoint, and I really want them to succeed with this one.

Feathered, with all respect, you are guessing sir.

Only Oleg, 1C, or Ubisoft would know the real details of Maddox Game's finances. If they are as bad as you seem to think development would have stopped long ago.

Please stop guessing and posting it as fact.

It serves no one well.

To add a bit here, Oleg is the head of 1c Maddox games, and they sell other products than just IL-2 around the world. Some of the other games seem to have a decent following of fans, judgeing from their forum activity.

I think it would be really cool if it's the 70th anniversary of BOB day, but i reckon a good few months after will be the actual date due to late complications.

However, don't see this as a negative comment, i am fully behind Oleg!

I can't believe it will be 70 years, soon the veterans will all be gone and it will be a sad day that it happens. Who will keep the history of these great men alive?! We must all do our bit.

I was watching a Black Shark clip on You Tube. The developer said there were about 45 full time employees working on BS. That was about 4 years in deveopement?

1C has about 10 or 12 working on BoB if memory serves me? I remember Ivans crew being commandeered for BoB too......

I'll let people conclude what they will, but to me the number of workers and the level of detail Oleg's attempting in BoB explains a lot.

Patience is the key. I'd love to have that shiny disc in my hard drive right now, but I know it'll get here in it's due time.
