I have for 2 years managed to get these photgraphs taken and posted on the download forum, Indeed this year a magazine has asked to use some of them in and article they are doing about the festival, of which I have gladly agreed......... However, This experiance has now been saddened for me.

Last night on his way home my friend Jimmie, the Pilot I flew with and who went out of his way to allow me to take the pre Concert photographs was killed in a Road crash.... He was one of the most helpful people I knew' totally unasuming and always willing to go out on a limb to help people out. A professional Co Pilot with DHL, I had requested his help on an Airtest I was doing last Thursday, as ever he came in to help me out having just returned from his holiday..... Unknown to both of us this was to be his pernultimate flight....... He will be missed and I would like to dedicate the photos he was involved in helping me take to his memory..................

Thank you Jimmie, you will not be forgotten.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Hi TT
Sorry for the loss of your friend Jimmie. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
Thoughts are with you. At least by asking
for his help with the air test you gave
him the chance of a final hop before his
number was called. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

ps Top pics, thx for sharing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Hey TT, real sorry to here about your friend.

Nice photo's you posted there. I know the festival has been going for years, I even went to it several times in the 80's, but I'm always amazed it gets permission to go ahead at all.

UK air law under ICAO approval (rule 5) states that "no aircraft is permitted to fly over, or within 1000ft of an open air event or gathering of 1000 people or more". Sticking to the rules would make for some spectacular take off's and landings!

Nah, I reckon its a money making scheme by the CAA. They had the man from the enforcement branch camped out at the festival noting registrations of over flying planes.

Also seriously limits your options if you suffer an EFATO. Bet the instructors at your school got asked some interesting questions that weekend huh TT??

Long live the Campaign Against Aviation. Next they'll want to bring in mandatory fitment of SSR Mode S....oops, too late http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
