I guess VVS finally found something to whine about http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'll play along: Got track?

Good grief, how durable do you think the real thing was? It was built in the 30s and in no way comparable to a B-17 probably less than the Pe-8. And I like the plane myself.

It saw limited action on ww2, and there was reason for it.. it was far from flying fortress http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They were used on winterwar on bombing northern finland, and they took casualties by Gladiators, so they were removed from this duty eventually..-

Early days of Barbarossa, they were used (mostly without escort) , and german fighters butchered them.. so they were removed from frontline service, and used mostly as supply planes, or paratrooper planes.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Still I love the plane, kinda hard to down with plane like BF109 F-2. Emil does the job though.

well it just falls apart, not like fire or pk pilot, wing falls off and stuff, and hit fusealarge and bang...

This is a plane that they parked I-16's on top of the wings and had others underneath for
some of the Zveno trials. Took off and made them work! Used as the setup in the sim,
I-16's with bombs took out an important bridge in the South Front early war.

1930's built does not mean weak. Well not armored is I think true and you hit the fuel
it should go boom probably but structure that plane had!

yeah, and u can hang 4 1000kg (2000lbs rough) off the wings http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

explosions are definately wierd.. it's structrucal strenght should be ok. but having those fuel tanks in wings, it was definalety extremely vulnerable, even to MG-fire (Gladiators shooting them down during winter war proves that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ) it was very flammable bomber..

Ping is talking about what happened last night in HL.. we were in a cr4p plane server. ping was having fun in his TB3, then along came a hurri mkI, gave ping about a 3 second burst and BOOM! the TB3 was in 5 flaming pieces.... even i did a double take..

8 .303s makes the TB3 go boom now, if thats not wierd i dont know what is.

think pretty much all bombers had wing fuel tanks, nature of the beast really, fuselarge full of crew and bombs http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

yeah biggs, and earlier i had done a coop where my g2 with gun pods sawwed or ksploded though 3 bombers in 1 pass, thought sumin was dodgy then...

My bomber mission online 2 days ago showed that it's not made of paper. Yes, I got plenty of parts destroyed and went into an unrecoverable spin at 1000 meters. Luckily, the spin was so soft that even from 1000 meters, the bomber crashed into the ground with no damage/explosion.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But yes, long time ago, I was able to do massive damage even against 190. Now, even B-239 are a menace...

That's because the MG151/20 on the G-2 gunpods is a proper cannon with the MG rounds in it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Sorry - couldn't resist http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

i didnt have a particular problem with just centre guns, but u probably have a point

I couldn't see any real changes with the TB-3...I flew a FW190A-4 against them and hammered them with full guns...they went down in the usual ammount of time. No massively easy kills.

Odd.

Yeah the gunpods on the 109G-2 are amazing. I do feel that the center cannon has benefited from some changes to the global DM modeling too!

I watched in a coop as 4 of 6 TB3s I sent to hit a forward base were ripped to shreds by m8s in 109f2s (not really known as a big plane buster)in just single passes. This is a drastic change. An F2 most often cant take out a spitfire or a mustang in a single pass why can it with this beast. Agreed, early war doesn't mean ****.

I saw 2 Emils cut a TB3 in half yesterday in one combined pass at 3k and the front part of the fuselage was in a gravity-defying flatspin for what seemed like 15 min (though it was closer to 2).

I tried it myself and went winchester in my Emil with good strike percentage (though my last pull PK'd the pilot)

Go figure.
