The last time the sky fell, just before PF shipped, Chicken Little told us all about the sky plummetting to Earth. In the best investigative tradition, C. Little predicted similar Divine Collapse when AEP was announced, when the patches before that were announced, and when FB was changed to a new sim, and not an add-on to Il-2:Sturmovik.

We need Chicken Little now more than ever. The shoulders of the Easily Panicked are straining under the weight of this burden. Only one personage should hoist this terrible weight and the awesome responsibility of this Celestial Crumbling, and go tell the King.

Despite the fact that Mr. Little has been dead wrong each and every time there has been a panic in the Oleg Maddox world of flight simming, that doesn't mean the Sky isn't falling. While I'm sure Chicken Little appreciates the myriad of desperate gasps that plead for a reason why why why oh why, his shoulders are broad indeed, and he exists, in fact, to shelter us from this responsibility, which is by Right his and his alone.

Please don't put Chicken Little out of a job. He is the one to run and tell the King. He is the one who should take hearsay as Gospel, the one who should take one narrow view and that one only of announcements that support will (horrors!) end someday for PF. He is the one who should start a dozen posts all saying the same thing. He's the one who should arm himself with as little knowledge as possible. he's the one who should take news here personally and to heart. That's why he exists: so we can behave like rational intelligent people. One Chicken Little is enough, folks

"Should I stay or should I go?"

I read a few words of your post and skipped this rest.

I've been with this series and backed this developer since day 1. This is the first time I've been disappointed by 1C and it's not because of some rumour someone came up with but because I asked a pointed question to the developer himself. Take it for what you will... but dispense with the "sky is falling" nonsense.

btw. find a better picture of Joe, he looks like a floating head. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

goshikisen,

Remove the words from your sig, I can't see the ship, and I want to...

But, as much as I love cruisers (which is more than anything except airplanes...) I can't agree with the words on your sig either. Yes, more ships would be nice (really, really nice), but I think the analogy is a little extreme...

The Pacific without Zeros would be on terms with a Europe without Tigers, IMHO...

I admire the attempt to use a character from fable to drive home the point. These stories we heard as children still can teach us some lessons.

Funny thing about fables, though...it can illustrate both sides. For every Chicken Little or Boy Who Cried Wolf, I am also reminded of that certain story about an Emperor and his "new clothes" and his subjects who continue to cheer and applaud until someone dares to point out that something is seriously wrong here. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

He and I cannot be the only perceptive people here, can we? The boards are like a bunch of epileptic parrots squaking "BRRRAWWWKK! PF is dead! Abandon ship, find the guilty!! Braawwak!"

Yeah... I towed that line for a while too. Does your nose bleed in the lofty heights? Somebody brings up an issue in a reasonable fashion and then the self righteous indignation crew starts their lecturing. Anybody who can't see that PF is botched is blind or deluded. You have over 4000 posts... you can't tell me you don't have some stake in this sim. Don't chastise others who have different interests than you and feel it important to express their opinion.

Man that was kinda harsh... nothing personal Chuck, I just wish folks could express their discontent without being made to feel juvenile for it.

Chuck,

The lack of information always gives Chicken Little his power. It is his life force.

Every time Oleg neglects a Friday dev update, a Chicken Little is born.

Hey, thats catchy! I should start another thread. LOL!

ive always found that the people worth listening to will be obvious.

even more so will be the people that arent.

i dont care what some nobody from nowhere sqwuaks about PF, its just Forum D!ckhead Syndrome: the crushing need to write staggeringly stupid or hysterical things that you wouldnt dare actually say in front of other people due to the utter embarrasment resulting.

so screech on Chickens, i will never cease to laugh at the spectacle.

Lofty heights from where circumspection is the norm? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Nope, hardly a drop of blood shed.

See, everyone's assuming I mean something besides what I said. I said that there's a lot of panic, and we don't need twenty new threads about PF losing support. That's what I said, and that's what I meant.

I think this is my thread of the day.

Unless someone starts an official development update thread.
