Just got "46. Nice! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Just a few questions: I have been playing the IL2-FB-AEP for years. Laid off for three years and now getting back into it. I always loved the Japanese and Italian fighters. Can't wait to fly the MC.200.

Anyway, been messing around with the KI-27 offline for practice....its really difficult for me to score with the telescopic gunsight... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gifI guess the Ki-43 has one also....

Small rifle calibre guns don't help either.....

Any advice on scoring with this fighter?

thanks.

Aim for the vulnerable parts of the plane you are attacking. I've seen players using the sight as a sniper rifle to hit small but critical areas, such as the engine, the radiator or the pilot. The guns are almost useless from the six, so attack from the sides. It is a bit more difficult, but it enables you to hit the pilot and the engine area.

Happy hunting!

Follow Jediteo's advice. That gunsight is your friend. Don't hesitate to get right on the enemy's tail either. The closer you are the better. And if you think you're too close - get closer. Use your rudder to angle your shots in on the critical areas. High deflection doesn't work as well with a plane like the Ki-27 because your plane's interrupter gear lowers the ROF of your MG's.

Earlier on the Ki-27 is pretty much king, but you have to watch out for later models of I-16's and 153's with their cannons. You're still an early Japanese fighter, which means vulnerable. Use the maneuverability.

Happy hunting! Yes the J said it good.................

I had some mediocre success from dead 6 tho but only at extremely close ranges,
If it was more closer I'd shave his tail paint with my prop........

Seriously.

And yeah................I set my gun conv extremely low as well, mandatory below 200m.
Usually 130m or less when there are no bombers.
Ironically when I got bomber hunting I need larger conv due to bomber snipers......

May sound silly, yet after you cntl+D the lens cap to open it.....Shift+F1 to get the sight view.

Now don't get me wrong, full zoom without shift+F1 has it's moments, allowing you to stay padlocked and get a view of all else...The view "almost" the same....Yet shift+F1 makes it just that much clearer, and soon you'll be shifting back and forth between them.

Also, short bursts...No need to spray and pray...Soon you'll be knocking out specific control surfaces, pilots, engines, whatever with ease http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I've got some impressive tracks made by DKoor shooting down 4 ace AI wildcat in a Ki43 and 4 Ace Ratas in a Mc200.
Very impressive task if you aske me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

You should be able to find them via Google or directly via DKoor, or if you can't, just PM me and I'll send them to you.

Ki-43 vs FM-2s is not that hard as long as your ammo lasts.....but.
MC.200 vs I-16 (20mm) is absolute hell setup. It almost equals fights versus 4 ace Spitfires IX (that is as tough as it gets vs Ai).

I host the tracks here:

There are a lot tracks from other people too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
