An il-2 ex-beginners on-line inspirational story...

I'll keep it short...

After a lot of practise and many many hours worth of flying, a fw190 finally had to succome to my spitfires 'spray and pray' deflection cannonfire on the warclouds server, saving my leader in the process...

There was denial at first, as wreckage disappeared onder my canopy, but the server agreed, I had made the kill...
A landmark of smoke, representing victory...

So excited, I forgot to check my fuel level...
Sput sput sput pssssssstt...
Deep into enemy territory...

Oh well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Still counts where it's important, my friend.

If it were real you'd be disappointed. Didn't Hartman say, something like, getting a kill at the expense of one of your own is no victory.

Progress it to be encouraged. Keep at it.

I read it as, he saved his leader, got his first online kill, but then ran out of fuel before he could go home and land so it doesn't "count" in the stats sense.

your first few kills are always great...keep practicing and you will get plenty more!

Ahhh...I remember my first online kill. Of course I had emptied enough rounds in his general direction to have dropped just about anything! It would have been even better if he had been flying for the other guys http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

It's not online flying but Flatspinman's BoB campaign is a lesson in fuel management - he gets you right to the bottom of the tank if you dawdle around too long.
