View Full Version : Revenge in the Fog

I just intercepted a convoy in the early morning hours. It's somewhat foggy, visibility about 2-3K. Heading submerged directly into the convoy from the front, I sank the lead escort, a Tribal class ddestroyer with a G7E. By the way, I'm using that new torpedo skin mod by Marhkov; it looks beautiful.

A large shape loomed out of the fog: a Revenge BB. Long story short: I've put five fish into her and she's still ploddding along in the fog, down by the starboard beam. I've estimated her course and am trying now to find her in the fog. I'll let you know in a day or two what happens, as I have to go away for the day tomorrow.

There is a sad ending to this tale. I am unable to reload the saved game from where I left off. I've tried three times to relaod the saved game. Each time I get that annoying crash message asking if I want to send an error report to Microsoft.

I am so pissed! I was looking forward to stalking that ship in the fog and sending her to the bottom. Now it can only remain in memory as a "what could have been" story.

Grrrr! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I had to reload the career to the last in base save. I started out [again] on patrol 3, heading to BE26. After patrolling that zone for about a week, I sailed north to the convoy lanes west of Ireland and found a convoy. This convoy also had a Revenge BB, which I sank this time, as well as a C3. After sinking those, I evaded, reloaded and surfaced just after sunrise, trying to maneuver around to the front of the convoy. A trawler out on the port wing has just spotted me, firing on me and has forced me to dive. So it looks like it is going to be more of the same: evade, wait, maneuver and try again to get into attack position.
