Geez, people. Take some anti-depressants or something. I just visited 3 threads taking about the update today and a new PF movie. And half the posts talked about how'd they'd seen it before and how for the most part it was a poor quality movie, blah, blah, blah! MY GOD PEOPLE! This is the best simulation of Pacific theater aircraft I've seen! Although I am new to flight sims, I think this game looks like one of the most awesome on the market right now to the average person's eye! I remember when the plane list came out. EVeryone begged for it for like three months. And what was the first 5 posts about? About how the plane list was DISAPPOINTING and they were sad that their fav wasn't on there. And it was the same people who posted a month before hand about how they would give anything to see it. And when its handed to them, they complain about it. Thank you for listening to my little rant and Luthier(sry if I mispelled it) and the entire Dev team, Thank you for your hard work at this sim and for taking this baby whining **** from some morons.

We've got lots of people who love to complain.

Sometimes I do too but I'm pleased as punch about any updates and PF is turning into a fine simulation/game/whatever and I know that I'm going to have a blast making new PTO missions and flying online and offline in new campaigns.

It'll be great.

LOL, Ahmen to that.

These people are complaining about a game they have not yet had a chance to even fly. Funny, huh. Imagine the *****ing we will here when they do get it. All the ones that say it needs this or that and the flight model isn't right(have they ever flown one of those in real life before?) need to sit down with their infenite wisdom and create that perfect game for us to critique.

Thats about all I have to say about that.

Well said, I've just d/led the latest video, and read the preview from France Simulation, [there's an English version] and it's great.
The sreenshots are fantastic, they also give a load of info on the maps [500km x 500km].
There's a thread with a link already, so I won't post it again, but it's well worth a look.
Roll on release date.

I'm very happy with the game, and for sure i'm not depressed about it... But i am depressed about the whole world, especially with its people...

I'm not depressed at all, given that I live roughly 600 feet above sea level. Talk to the coastal Dutch, though...

Let me guess answer for your title of this thread: they were playing IL-2 for just too much time and eventually get bored. Since nothing better is available outhere, they want IL-2 v2.04 and future PF to be even more improved.

The most Depressed were the most Excited while watching the movie. Be assured.

Also, they want whole new IL~3

LOL Longjocks!

And to aminx:

Who said that they won't add on the torp bombers later? what about a nice patch with maybe the Avenger and some others added to the game. Don't you think from looking at Oleg's work that he will include all the pivotal planes and then some? Would you rather wait till April for the game so that your little desires can be satisfied?

When did anyone with the access to the dev cycle say, "No! There are to be no torpedo bombers!"

In fact, from my grubbing around on the Internet I found information hinting that if the Avenger and "Kate" aren't flyable upon release they are being completed for an early patch.

So i've heard as well.
Oleg said something in a post on here about how Pacific Fighters was too big to fit everything they wanted onto just 2 CD's like Forgotten Battles was squeezed onto, so they're having to cut certain AI planes and cockpits and a few maps to make it fit...
however, all of the "missing" items will be quickly tossed in with a nice little Patch.

Thanks for the post CAP401

I was amazed when I first started playing on-line and became a part of the IL2 flight sim community. There are certainly a lot of spoiled children out there that complain about their Christmas presents. I write it off to a society that is never pleased with anything or anybody and is always putting their paw out and exclaiming that - "I want it right now and I want it my way."
Depressed? Not me. I am as excited about PF as the time when I was 7 years old and opened my first REAL plastic airplane model (a F4F-4 Wildcat) at Christmas time.
I won't be disappointed. Simply for the reason that anything Oleg and crew does is a big plus for me.
And I'll enjoy every minute of it.

Well between being a zealot fan boy and a unredeeming negative whiner there's actually enough room to maneuvre.

PF isn't a new sim thus it should be judged not by the standard of MSCFS2 but by its direct predecesors.

Even if you take into account the subsequent development of the IL2 series, a good benchmark would be the original IL2. If PF isn't as complete in terms of types as IL2 its actually a step back in terms of "campaign experience".

To simplify: moving to the pacific and adding some limited naval elements does not a new sim make...

Am I looking forward to the prospect of playing around with Pacific war a/c in a more or less pacific war environment, probably as much as the most enthusiastic of you, but that doesn't mean that I am spoiled because I think some of the design options are fairly "low risk" and to go a step further "uninspiring".

PF will add a new theatre, but will be a small step in terms of development compared to the original and thus IMHO not warrant the kind of almost hysterical praise its getting just because we've seen a A6M2 from AEP on the deck of a Nip carrier nor some Mod. 239s dressed up like Navy Brewsters.

Granted IL2 had gaps, but you could more or less play a complete and credible campaign on either side, with sufficient AI support to make for a varied game experience. As it currently stands, based on a critical look at the supplied data, PF will not offer such a rich experience when it hits the shelves. Luthiers team gets some of the blame because they simply rehash a lot of elements in their presentations.

Sure as an add on simply adding more flyables to the muli-play experience will be great (with the big exeption of movable carriers for dogfight servers) and warrant a purchase of PF.

Its not a question of being too critical, I'll buy the game and smile about those things that are nice and enjoy them, but its about being too eager too please, to fast with compliments and praise. You don't learn from fan boys, you learn from those who dare to be honest and critical where it need be.

We may have our faults, but its not a lack of enthusiasm. Maybe we explain things in terms of half empty instead of half full, but that doesn't make us less interested.

See us as the other side of the coin.

In the end you think Oleg & Co will learn more from:

a. We love you Oleg

b. The bomb pattern for those IJN carrier bombers is wrong, here is the right pattern.

c. You suck Oleg

I doubt anyone is more excited about Pacific Fighters than yours truly, and I do believe it is a bit hasty to judge the upcoming game from preview shots and amateur videos made from older builds.

However, I do believe that if the WiP flyables list is final, the Japanese will be getting screwed over, making flying for them (especially on multiplayer) increasingly unenjoyable the farther one gets from 1942. I have already begun compiling a priority list of planes that need to be made flyable, so that when the game comes out I can throw my two bits in.

Also, I will be disappointed if no flyable aircraft with working intercept and air-to-surface radar sets get included.
