Hi,

Here are a couple of pictures I took today at my local shopping centre (which is next to Leith docks, Edinburgh).

This is the first time I've seen a submarine there - we normally get small mineweepers or cruise ships. Its one of the Norwegian Ula class - S305 Uredd ("Unafraid.") In the background you can see the Royal Yacht Britannia.

S305:
8 x 21" tubes, 11kt surfaced, 23kt submerged. 21 crew.
A pretty silent sub according to Wikipedia.

It must have plenty space on board, judging by the number of shopping bags the sailors were carrying onto it!

Very nice pictures; thabnk you for sharing them! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

They seem to take their Health & Safety manual very seriously; that green safety netting between the gangway, the dock and the forward hatch looks a bit "over the top" to me...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Use the vertical!

Looking at the Scania Truck parked alongside it looks like the sub has stopped off to offload their garbage http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
