Hey All,

How do I order my wingmen to attack a ground or air target? Usually, they do their own thing. Do I use padlock? If so, how do I do it right?

Many thanks,

Jay

No Jay,

it's not padlock. Press the tab key while in the cockpit and you will see a list of numbers and words appear in the top left of your screen.

Once you can see that, it's self-explanatory. You type in a number for the plane or flight that you want to issue an order to - then the list will change and you type a number for the action you want it/them to perform. There are further 'levels' - selecting Ground Targets for example will open a sub-menu of target types.

So here's an oft-used set - <tab> <1> <1> or <Wingman> <Cover me> http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
As soon as you have typed in the final command in a series - another example <tab> <8> <1>, which is <Ground Control> <Request Assistance> - the list will disappear until you need it again. Do not hit enter....you may shoot down your wingy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The one exception to this would be the command to "Attack My Target". Unfortunately the ability to padlock ships disappeared with an early patch back in the original IL-2, therefore you lack the ability to direct an attack on a specific ship.
