Hello,

I fly r/c planes and helicopters. I'm pretty sure there are no kits of the IL-2, at least not yet. Resone why I say not yet is at last year's scale masters competition there was an IL-2 modeled. It was scratch built. A beutiful job too. Anyway, I remember seeing plans you can purchase of the IL-2. From these plans you can scratch build a kit or get the parts commercially cut out. By a kit cutting company.

BTW. I have a set of plans of the IL-2 somewhere on disk too. Its maybe a .40 cu model size. I got these plans for free off a web-site. Dont remember which. I'll keep looking for them.

I found my IL-2 plans. they are 1/12 scale and are for 704 R/C combat. Simple model to put together. About .35-40 size plane.

There is no kit per se but there were plans published by Bob Underwood about 10 years ago. I have a set and was planning to build one but it looks like I'll never get to it. The plane is rather large, about 75" W/S or better IIRC and powered by a 1.08 2 stroke. It's designed for Fults retracts. If you are interested in plans check out RCModeler's web site. I beleive the plans are still available. Bob has campaigned this model quite extensively in the past and it's a contest winner. it flies very nice and has a low wing loadig due to it's immense wing area.

good luck with your quest.

Johann
