I was watching the news today when they told that there is a british sub at anchor at Gibraltar. It is being repaird, from what it seems a dangerous damage.
At least, there is a spanish ship near the coast watching from radioactivity in the water, so I guess there is some problem with the nuclear reactor. I don't have much information.

I just thought I was going to tell it, because there seems to be lots of problems with british subs (maybe it is just an impression, but there was the Tireless some years ago and that one sold to canadà ).

The best submarine force is the Canadian one.. "my" country http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And they buy to the best country "england" and now we have the best submarine.... first voyage... major problem, 1 death, and its cost so hard to keep that dam sub flooding.... and isn t for defending "our" country.. the USA patrol "your" ocean and "your" territorial limit .... and we will never attack and we will never be attacked by other country..... The african one is much more stronger then yours lol

We buy this formidable sub because the american ask to do its.... Woww ... what a faboulus country http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif You underestimate the subs your country has bought, maybe you think the canadian navy are all ******s and bought a **** sub caus they had to?

How come they are very proud of these subs, only one had a major problem, not bad to say they have been mothballed so long. They got them so cheaply the cost of repairing was factored into it. They have saved money on design and manufacture in the long run. Also thats a dangerous attitude to say your country will never be attacked!! Lets all turn our swords into plow blades!

Who cares about Naval strength anymore? Its not important in the world as it was up to the second world war.

LOL! Portugal owns the best subs ever! We have 3 moderm subs from WWII (OMG) and two of them have uniue caracteristics ROTFL!

One of them can't fire torps because they get stuck in the bows.

The other cannot dive because it he can't surface if he does it lol!

And the last one seems to work fine with tons of cockroachs...

I think portugal is going to get some new subs... Geez! Thats what Portugal needs, new subs, dispiting all the countries economical deficiencies...

Portugal has already signed contract to buy two submarines, the U-209PN , made thinking about our misty waters. they will be, by far, the most advanced non-nuclear submarines in active duty once activated.

Don't be so cruel to our old submarines, i think it was delfim, or albacora that "sank" an entire US fleet on an exercise, it shadowed the war convoy for a long time, sometimes hiding under the carrier keel, the americans said they thought it was a whale, well, one day the submarine surfaced, side by side with the carrier, the next day the head in command of that fleet resigned.

About the radioactivity search, might be just routine check.

The submarine that's put into Gibraltar is HMS Sceptre. She's nuclear powered, but the repairs are for a fault to the cooling system of a diesel generator. Nothing to do with its nuclear plant, and of no danger to either crew or the local population. Just a routine repair job.

The British make very good submarines. I sailed on a Canadian Oberon Class boat, that was manfactured in the UK. It was a very good and reliable boat. Yes, we had some problems, but nothing that was out of the ordinary. Fires, floods, etc...happen on all boats, no matter who makes them. It is the nature of the submarine business. Our three Oberons served us well as will the Upholders when the kinks are worked out.

Kissin' @ss and gettin' more trash. Eh hoser? I have great respect for the RCN, but not their purchasing wisdom.
