We were so dominating, how did it come to this? 38-34 Colts http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

One word.

Manning!

Great game though! Was better than the Super Bowl will probably be.

I can tell you what happened:

1) End of first half, Patriots with the ball in Colts territory, 3rd down, Brady completes for a first but- Offensive pass interference. TERRIBLE CALL.

Instead of sustaining a drive for a field goal at least, Pats have to punt, leave time on the clock and Colts come back to get a field goal and narrow the score.

2) End of 4th quarter, tied, Pats driving to go ahead. Pass to Caldwell in the end zone, OBVIOUS pass interference on the Colts. No call. Would have been first down on the one.

Pats kick a FG. You know what happened next.

We were dominating???????

The Pats dominated the 1st 25 minutes and then Manning took over. They tired out the defence and kept the Pat's offence off the field. When they had to sustain a drive they didn't. I have NO IDEA why they gave up the run. Cory Dillon was having some sucess, and Falk gained posative yards on almost if not all his carries. Ummmmmmmmmmm Mulroney? Ummmmmmmmmm he turned out to be a bust this year. I hoped for more.

The defensive backs played better than I EVER saw them play all year. They were out there too long.

I know Freeny was preassuring, but when he was occupied by Light or attacking Brady, why wasn't there a screen play to that side.... at least once or twice? I felt that whole side of the field was neglected for a large portion of the game.

How many passes did Brady throw tonight? And still they weren't out of it.

All in all the Colts outplayed the Pats. Good for them. I'm dissappointed, but the better team won.

The first 3rd Qt. drive the Colts took nearly 9 minutes off the clock and ended the drive with a TD. I believe that was the turning point in wearing the Pats defense down and they never really recovered.

Oh Adam Vinetre(I think) is really enjoying this eh? Three out of the last five years participating in the Super Bowl with the Pats. And now beating his ol' team mates for another trip to the Super Bowl with a different team. You gota love it for that guy.

Rhetorical question guys, I know how it happened, just can't believe it. Our defense seemed nonexistent 2 quarter on. As for my dominating remark, that was referring to the first quarter.

I will also say Caldwell dropping two on the mark passes didn't help http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Well Gonna root for Chi-Town, the enemy of my enemy... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Manning has it going on. Good game.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh the pain...the pain....I'm not sure who I'll root for. It doesn't feel any better the next day does it???? LOL http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I was kinda hoping it came to a Gostkowski feild goal. (Well an Indy blanking would have been nicer, but hey! Indy did score 32 points 2nd half. So a Gostkowski field goal would have bben good too.) C'est la vie.

Pats defense was dead tired by Q4, you could see it. Anyway, I was glad to see Manning & Co. finally beat the Brady Bunch. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I'm an Indy fan so I won't be rooting for the boring Bears!!! Oh, and just for your info, most nationwide polls I see, the public in general think the Colts will win by an overwhelming majority. As do most experts. The strength of the Bear's record is deceiving, since they had a lilly soft schedule this year compared to the Colts. So their "vaunted" defense did not face many great offences. With the exception of the Saints, so I'll give them that much. Even if I wasn't a Colts fan, I'd still be against the Bears cause they don't play pretty ball.

I'm dissappointed the Pats lost. BIG TIME DISSAPPOINTED! Sigh.

Isn't there a strange sort of poetic justice for Peyton to make it in the Superbowl over the Pats?

Hey! a few plays here, one more 1st down or a catch there and maybe the Colts wouldn't have had time to make their last TD run. Oh well.

Seeing how the Bears really shut out the Saints in the second half AND how many turnovers they were able to create give me pause for the Colts. I don't think it's going to be that easy of a game for either team.

Pats lost the ball 5 times against the Bears this year. Their defence worked to get them and created 3 of the 5.

Should be a great game this February.
