Here ya go if you are a pro you should be able to answer this. Will opening the radiator alow you to run the engine at higher rpm for longer.... Without overheating the engine

A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great'
landing is one after which they can use the plane again<center>

Opening the radiator flaps allows the engine to cool more quickly due to increased airflow around the radiator. This allows you to cool the engine more quickly if it is hot, or to run the engine at higher power, as in your question. (Power settings are usually given for manifold pressure and rpm, hence you can use increased throttle and/or increased rpm.) The price you pay is in drag, so you will either have to fly more slowly or use some ofthe extra power to pay for the drag. Normally you should fly with the radiator closed and at climb or cruise power. Use the radiator in combat or after combat to keep engine temperatures within operational limits.

Mike

Yes, it does...but like michapma says...it increases drag
