He could have 'copy/pasted' the umlaut there, before you start down the Euro keyboards are "Uber" path.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Believe it or not, most people in Spain don't know what an umlaut is -since we use it only on ?? and we call it "di??resis". Also, most people in Spain don't know what TX is, but I love Tejas (the 'x' of Mexico, Texas and Quixote are ancient Spanish 'x' and were pronounced a strongly aspirated 'kh' -the actual Spanish 'j' sound).

BTW, Euro keyboards are a must here. Really. I had to use an US-made keyboard at work for some time, and it was a pain for me, since Spanish is full of diacritic stress signs ("tilde") and "??".

If you have not one, the best way is using the ASCII code with Alt (Alt+numeric code) in the numeric pad.

For example, to have an "??", just type Alt+0246.

You can search the codes in the Windows "Character Map" tool.

Ahem ... von Mackensen. Generalfeldmarschall August von Mackensen comes from a prussian officer's family with a long tradition for cavalry officers (dating back to the times of Friedrich II). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Are you aware that I was talking to a fellow resident of the same state? Believe it or not, some people in TX,know what an umlaut is.

He could have 'copy/pasted' the umlaut there, before you start down the Euro keyboards are "Uber" path.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Thanks for the code info,I have a buddy that's worked in IT for years, and I bet he doesn't even know that stuff. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm with you on Tejas,I actually prefer to say I'm from La Republica de Tejas. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I have two German campaigns going right now. One with Oscar von Bonin.

The other with Hans Schultz (my great grandfather's name).

For those German and Austrian members of the community who might be offended, ersatz German has been a staple of American humor ever since some Hessian prince rented his boys out to George the Third. Every other American has at least one German grandparent these days. Don't you guys have humor and jokes based on how foreigners (mis)speak your language?

cheers

I was back over the channel when I saw another Hurricane coming from Calais, trailing white smoke, obviously in a bad way.
I flew up alongside him and escorted him all the way to England and waved goodbye.
A few weeks later the same thing happened to me.
That would never have happened in Russia - never". (Erich Rudorffer - 109 pilot)

I didn't know that word. Anyway, I just translate at Babelfish. It puts in stuff that looks funny above letters.

Oh, please, let me say as the original poster, I am German on my Mother's side (Guinther) and actually had some very distant cousins perish in the Dresden bombings.

This was all meant in good fun.

At least I didn't mention my German Proctologist, Dr. Seymour Heinie.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v476/GreyFox5/rr-enemyace-2_Small.jpg Enemy Ace? I used to read that DC comic back in the sixties, when he was flying a red Fokker D.R.I in the Great War. I see Hans has graduated to a red 109F, and moved to the Eastern Front.

It's nice to see that the artist has tried to be faithful to Joe Kubert's style.

<span class="ev_code_RED">(Von Hammer is really supposed to be Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen if he had survived the war)</span>

The ENEMY ACE: War In Heaven trade paperback will please old time fans of Hans Von Hammer and DC's war titles of yesteryear. Undoubtedly, those who worship Garth Ennis will also find it to their liking.

At 46 years old, Hans Von Hammer a.k.a. The Hammer Of Hell due to his fantastic World War I military record is called upon by the Nazi regime to join the battle against the Russians. Von Hammer does not share Hitler's vision but the chance to fly a fighter aircraft to protect his homeland and fellow countrymen overcomes him. Although he has not flown a military plane since 1918, Von Hammer is still able to outmatch Germany's opponents with his keen mind, skill and impeccable air fighting strategy. With his competence, courage and legendary status, Von Hammer earns the respect of his fellow pilots and blatantly defies not only his superiors but allows himself to openly disrespect Hitler alongside many Nazi officials. After inadvertently finding himself in the Dachau concentration camp, Von Hammer questions his role as a soldier of The Third Reich. When Nazi Germany finally succumbs, Von Hammer gracefully surrenders to Sergeant Rock(!) in an honorable fashion but not before he manages to destroy the air fighter planes in the field so that the Allies cannot use it against his homeland.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
