Why havent the pilots legs arms, hand etc been modeled for in cockpit view? Seems a bit weird to look down in the pit and see your torso and legs missing.

it coincides with the silly arguements made in here sometimes regarding flying with "Full Cockpit" difficulties in some online servers. the arguements are priceless, we at the tech center where i work laugh all day over these, sometimes even print them out and post them all over the office.

So hasnt the topic of an empty looking cockpit ever come up before?
I would have thought that to make this look more realistic in the cockpit view that you should see your arms and legs when looking down.
It just seems funny to look down in pit and see it empty! And when you apply rudder they move all by themselves, no feet pushing on them..
must be a ghost in the pit.

It depends on whose arms and legs you see. They could become distracting if they are they aren't yours but those of someone of the opposite sex in a very short min... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Sorry, my mind started to wonder there http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

hope this helps.

1. more CPU or graphic card crunching for animated arms/legs (to mate up with animated stick/rudder)

2. your arms will block some gauges.

3. would you rather have an animated figure in cockpit, that blocks the beauty of your cockpit, clusters, interior? (as well as CRUCIAL information) or would you rather go without a figure inside, and have excellent pits to look at, and reducing what your graphic card, and CPU has to reduce ?

I dont think animated legs/feet on the rudder peddles would be much more demanding than the current animation. It could be made as part of the rudder peddle animation/graphics (legs that is) and Iam sure it would only be a hand full more polys to display. Same as far as the arm/throttle/torso goes. And there arent that many gages you need to see. Its a prop fighter not a high tech jet. Most if not all info you need is usually displayed on screen anyways. Only exception is the VSI, and when in a dodfight I doubt you have time to look down in the pit.
I just think it would look better to have an image of a body in the pit
