Prior to 3.03, many planes had great difficulty getting enough speed to takeoff from static carriers in DF servers. Now with 3.03, some planes simply can't do it if armed or fully fueled. Many have requested a variety of things to correct this such as catapults but what we really need is moving ships in DF servers. If the mission builder could set the CV's to flank speed then there would be no problem getting most planes up. I do not know why moving ships are restricted from DF servers but unrestricting them would greatly enhance online play. Yes it could create some potential problems with dedicated servers but most of those have some sort of timer that resets the mission after an hour or two anyways. So I don't think there will be much of a problem. If only 1 thing is added to multiplayer ever again, please let it be moving ships so that we can actually takeoff of CV's properly.

Sounds like a great idea.

it would be great to have cyclic waypoints, It coud be used too for tanks and other ground objets.

This was rasied long ago. Accoroding to Oleg, it is not possible with the current game engine. For same reason there is no AI activity in a dogfight server apart from AAA.

Totaly, let us setup cyclic routes and there isn't any problems http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Heck anything would be better than nothing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Given what Oleg said a long time ago, this would be a must have for the next sim.

Yes, would be great. Would make it much harder for Mudmovers. Those stationary targets are way to easy to kill.

However, if people connect to a dogfight server they get a transmit of the original mission file, maybe updated with some damage info. With this it's not possbile to have moving objects, I think.

Ground object would need to transmit their positions and movement just like the planes, this would really be hard on the connection. Probably the end to all modem play.

If carriers move in a predetermined path then you could get away with sending just the amount of time they have been moving for new clients. Basically with the right set of restrictions there wouldn't be a need for a constant stream of updates.

Spot on.
Having carriers but hardly -if at all- being able to take off from them in online DF is IMO a big "-" of PF.

Why not have some "backwind" around carriers to give taking off aircraft a little push in the back? Maybe that can be coded.
