its really strange that i dont see threads about the new DRM the PC version will have.

the link to gamespot about this issue is here:

in a nut shell - u must be online during the entire game session. disconnect and the game will pause until u resume your connection. saves are not done locally but online at ubisoft servers.
if ubisoft will stop supporting the servers holding the date than a patch will come to release the game to offline.
unlimited installs.
no need for DVD in drive in order to play.
u can load your game from any machine (saves are online as i said).

whats your opinion on this?

frankly, im worried. i dont want to be dependent on online to keep my saves and get my game running. i dont want the fact that i might be DLing something, or me or my room mate using the internet for whatever to hinder my chances to play an offline game.
also i simply hate the fact that the possibility to play is out of my hands. if something is wrong or not working on the servers or if my ISP is having issues or something is wrong with the phone line.... all these reasons might prevent me from playing.

i dont know. i hate the idea. i never liked having to put the DVD in the drive either but at least it was under my control.

i think i will wait a few weeks to see if ppl complain about this method. see what others think and let THEM endure the birth pains of this new system.
however it does seem hard to crack (for pirates) so who knows - it might be good for ubi.
