Really?
Then:

1) How long it will take for AFJs to READ UND APLY the SIG RULES?

2) How many days it will take you to teach Gibbage how to spell? Afterall, even the chichen was taught how to play tic-tac-toe...

i meant what i said. if hes busy pass it off to gibbage who would love to do it. two days max. sounds like itll take him another few months . these guys sit on the best planes for months to a year and gibbage wants to do them all. check all the planes that are taken. these guys sit on them forever not even working on them for months at a time when others would die to model the best planes. thats what i meant. he will probably do a good job. but try not to read into it that i think the guy sucks. i didnt say that. if your busy dont tie up a good plane. no one else is allowed to make it unless he drops the project. P.S. slobolan what sig rule am i breaking ?

Where did you read that Gibbage wants to do them all? As I recall it needed a R9800Pro/FX5900Ultra offer to grab Gibbage's attention to Spitfires. It would be great if Gibbage modelled all the "sleeping" planes himself, but either he does not have enough time or does not like them. I understand that. I would rather get an a/c from a modeller who likes the plane than from the one who is forced to do so. But you have a point in the fact that lot of modellers reserved the most needed a/c's without providing at least any progress report, thus no one knows if they still work on them or not. If I got enough skill to modell planes and was not sure if any progress is done by the reserving modeller, I would start the project myself and after some progress I would certainly ask someone "in the know" to contact the previous modeller and ask about his progress. If it was stopped I would then submit mine.

Like many other Spitfire Whiners, I'd be prepared to pay for the Spit XIV in an add-on pack. But, it'd have to include the Spit I,V & IX aswell. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

That's right. The FB Police SWAT team will come and slap you silly with a MS Sidewinder2, if you dare to model the same plane as someone else. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Come on: We're supposed to belong to the free world remember? Noone stops anyone from modelling whatever they want.

Ah, greetings Skyghost - Salute! True - the mkxiv comes close to the 190 in roll - and certainly outturns and outclimbs it in addition to being nearly as cool looking as the P-63 - which also does all those things /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
PS - I think that dora looks kinda cool ReDdeth - but the scheme will be even better on a mustang! (PSS - Fieval's been working on that mkxiv for awhile - but he's also working on his phd and has had a hardware crash or two - PLUS he's doing the cockpit - which is very time consuming even with Gib's special powers. He's done a beautiful job on that bird and deserves alot of credit)

Excellent news, can't wait. I'd also pay for a multi-model Spit add-on pack.

The MkVIII was generally regarded as the best overall Spitfire from a pure flying viewpoint. Most of the MKVIII production went to overseas theatres of operations.

It would be nice to have the landmark models represented...Mk1, MkV, MkXI, MkXIV

A Spitfire flew over my head once when I was a kid in the school playground in West London. I heard this fantastic and unfamiliar sound of the Merlin/Griffon engine as it approached getting louder and louder, and then, there it was ,quite low and overhead. What a sight! Unforgettable.

Regards,

Gibbs

Right, but some of them were engaged in Italy, even under USAAF colors!

Gret modelling Fievel./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

But I see you are doing the same mistake that one sees on the Fw190 - a large lower armour glass frame. Please model the frame size as to what the pilot would see on the inner surface of the armour glass.

Nearly as cool looking? NEARLY????!!!!!! That does it Nagual, name the place and the time, this calls up for a duel, what an insult, I can believe, nearly as cool looking, humpf.... this asks for blood at very least.... SPIT LOVERS, unite against such an heresy as posted above.... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I agree with Milo on this remark.

Look at this pic:

http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=showMyPhoto&albumID=86052301&photoID=92554463&security=dMVFTl

You should model this bar, to be really realistic, not as it is geometrically on the plans, but like the real pilot saw it! That's what's should have been done with the 190.

But as Eric Brown stated that the 190 has a much better front view as the Spit, modeling a big bar on the Spit is perhaps some kind of "balance fairness" /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

It's a good thing these modellers are not working on U-boat simulator. We would never be able to see out of the periscopes!

XyZspineZyX
09-29-2003, 07:19 PM
Nice idea, I wouldn't mind if they add a persiscop in the 190 cockpit /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

XyZspineZyX
09-29-2003, 07:33 PM
Yeah I'd appreciate that too I can never hit anything on deflection shots with the cockpit on.

Look the thing is neither choice is really right, we either have no refraction or selective refraction because the game engine doesn't simulate it globally. Personally as the majority if not all planes are done with no refraction that's the way I'd go to keep things consistant.

P.S. Would I be poking a hornet's nest if I pointed out that periscopes rely on the related phenomenen (sp?) of total internal reflection not refraction /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

XyZspineZyX
10-01-2003, 03:21 PM
Just fancy bumping this.. Not to highlight the refraction enigma.. but rather; the superlative work of young Fievel.. The boy done good, let's try not to lose perspective (no pun intended!) /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Great job mate! Looking forward to this plane over any other! (unless the mk.VIII's coming!?) I hope we see it in the first addon.. But good things come to those who wait, right?

Anyways, hats off!

(We're getting a spitfire lads!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif )

I want one!

I'd be happy /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif to pay for an addon that contains that model!
