Any rumors of a port in the future? I could get my nephews intrested in something like that. Give them prop plane bug and then introduce then to what their uncles and dads do when they should be being productive somwhere.

I saw a commercial for this game on G4TV. The radio chatter in the commercial are straight out of IL2/FB...

As long as that movie is Pearl Harbour I'll wager! hehe.

Hmm. this is maybe the arcade strippet version of Il2, based on that code? Could do some recruiting for the real thing.

If it has immersion and good scenematics, it could be good for newbies.

Is it just me, or in the picture at the bottom of the page is the 262 firing at the P-51 from out of it's engines instead of from the nose of the jet?

Oh no the horror of it all! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Young folks (and older I suppose too) buy this simplistic flight combat game for their Xbox, they fall in love with the genre, more and more of the younger generation start supporting more complicated simulations like the IL-2 series, Maddox (and others) are financed to expand this gaming niche. I mean, we elitists can't stand by for something like that, can we? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/351.gif

And if it does suck even at an "arcade" level, which I thought around here meant using icons or open cockpit, like Weapons Over Normandy (Lucas) a couple of years ago, I see no reason to feel threaten by the attempt.

Up the flight sims regardless what difficulty level - and do I dare blaspheme - regardless WHO does it.

yes this is good, although i wont buy this myself it can bring more people into intrest with combat flight sims thus making more money for 1C so they can keep us providing with the good stuff on PC

All third person shots, No cockpits, Heck it would be tough to play for me, doubt I'll spend any money on that one.

did anyone notice the radar screen in the upper right corner? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif.

From the screen shots it looks like an anemic version of IL2.

Look at the KGV at Pearl Harbor, that makes it a definite yes.

Guess Ubi's still looking positively at the old game engine, wonder why they think they cannot get any more financial mileage out of it as a serious sim product.

No more add ons (if you do not count the Kurland trick).

All eggs are with BoB...

2006?

Not even a screenshot (alpha) makes me doubtful they'll get it released before X-mas 2006, more likely E3 2007 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think this wholly explains the delay in the patch and the unfinised feel of PF. Somebody was spending too much time making Microsoft and Ubi happy.

it has external views and cockpitviews. Most the shots are from external and screens they take, There is only 2-3 pit shots.

here the 2005 e3 video click on the wmv one,

Blazing Angels is getting made by Ubisoft Romania, not 1C:Maddox. Pacific Fighters and Blazing Angels are completely seperate devteams and projects, they don't/won't influence each other.

Otherwise, Blazing Angel's is quite good fun. I had the chance to play it around a month ago and it's quite arcadey but great fun http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
