I'm afraid FB is still better.

Lomac could be worse than what we expect it to be.

Thou FB's combat environment would be less gorgeous than Lo-mac's, it is more natural. (just my opinion.)

Don't get me wrong. I'm modern combat maniac.

Um...errr...I think your mistaken my flying friend...LOMAC is still in Beta stage it's due for release by X-mas 2003.

I personally feel there is more skill needed to fly a WW2 aircraft, I'm mean in a jet-sim like Falcon 4 or Janes F18 you simply lock your target from 40 miles out and fire your AIM-120 AMRAAM missile...boom...fight is over. But in IL-2FB you have to "work" for your kill which is what I love.

LOMAC has much more eye-candy than IL-2 however, which is why you will need 2.0Ghz CPU, 512MB Ram and a GeForce Ti 4XXX or greater to run it even on the high detail settings.

TooCooL what are you talking about? It's built around Flanker 2.5, which is still a great game by today's standards (and is on the level of il2/fb). So how's adding planes, tweaking FM, and better graphics going to make the game worse?

Some WWII simmers just hate modern combat sims and vice versa. I like both for the differences and simularities. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

LOMAC will certainly be the best modern combat sim, but I anticipate it will have some shortcomings because of its ambitious scope.

You shouldn't dislike a particular era flight sim just because you're no good at it.

Quake, it ISN"T built around Flanker 2.5. It is completly new from the ground up, new graphic engine, the whole works. It IS in beta, and is an unreleased product as of right now. It WAS to be out at the end of summer, but is still being pushed back.

Lomac should be an incredible product. The released movies of it really show it off.

Yes and no. Any jet sim that simulates missiles as being sure to kill a target is just plain wrong. One of my favourite tracks to watch in Flanker 2 was a demo of a Flanker evading 4 sidewinders from 2 F16s, then zapping them guns only in the ensuing dogfight.

Using low altitude flight, countermeasures, and high speed aggressive manouvers in Flanker, you could usually evade one or two missiles and close in. And once you've fired all your missiles, you may well be in gun range anyway!

Besides that, Lomac will also feature a heavy ground attack component, just like in IL2 but with modern aircraft.
