I'll take AC2 without the DRM please

I don't think that Ubisoft will give you AC2 for free, just because you have problems with the game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif The game was just released on PC and it still costs a lot.Try something from 2008-2009.If I'm not mistaken they gave a choice between: Prince Of Persia(2008),Tom Clancy's Hawx,Tom Clancy's Endwar and Heroes Over Europe.

When Assassin's Creed 2 for PC was released there were some problems with the servers and people couldn't play the game.So to compensate the gamers Ubisoft gave free games to the gamers, who bought the game in the first few days. Also they gave codes for some levels in Assassin's Creed 2,that were only available for people who bought one of the special editions.

I never got a free game! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif I got Assassin's Creed 2 on the day it came out and after about an hour of playing, I got the server/online errors and couldn't play for over a week. I still have trouble with the DRM at times. The only compensation I was given was an email of the code for the bonus levels (which I already had). And then that only gives you an extra hour of gaming at most.

Well,I'm sorry for you. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Some people got the free games, some got the bonus levels from the collector's edition.I think it had something to do with Steam - if you bought the game from Steam you get the bonus levels and if you bought the game retail you get the free game, but I'm not really sure.At least it's good that Ubi DID something to compensate their PC gamers.

Well, I bought mine retail, so that wasn't the case then! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

But I agree, it was good of Ubisoft to actually do something in a way of compensation. It's just a shame for me at least, as the code to me was useless as I already had those extra levels unlocked. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Well, they should get going on either fixing this **** or handing out compensation, 'caus this sucks! If I can't play this game tomorrow I will never buy a game from this **** company again and I will probably send the copy I got now back. This is not worth that kind of money!

It's strange.I have no idea how they choose to compensate the gamers - they choose some random people and give them free games and for other people they give codes.Anyway,it's good that they are compensating the gamers, but those problems shouldn't have existed in the first place.AC2 had problems with it's launch and now Conviction is also having problems.I'm starting to think that there should be some punishments for the people, responsible for the PC versions a.k.a "ports".I know it sounds harsh, but Ubisoft usually delays their PC games(2 weeks,a month or more),so PC gamers have to wait more and in the end they STILL have problems. So what's the wait really for?To improve the DRM?I'm really hoping that Ubisoft will properly support the game in the future and will occasionally release patches, because right now the PC forum is full with complaints and I hope some of the devs will read about the problems and fix them. Also PLEASE Ubisoft - don't focus the DRM,but on making your games playable for the people who bought them.

Well, they managed to create a really good DRM. Since noone can play it, neither can the pirates!

Well,I'm not from Ubisoft and I can't give you free games. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif This could happen only IF Ubisoft decides to compensate their PC gamers again.

The original idea was to give players the bonus content which came with the special editions. When the people who had the bonus content complained, they sent those people the free game code.

If you have the bonus content, and Ubisoft sent you a code for the bonus content, just reply to them saying what's happened. They'll send you the code for a game.

Guys the offer of compensation was given out due to Server issues.

The servers are currently working - however it appears a lot of you are having problems with connecting to them?

I suggest you all contact support for a couple of reasons..

1, If like the other titles your using certain firewall software - or have it set up incorrectly, this can stop the game connecting - with the 'an internet connection is required to play the game' message - they can most likely get it working for you over the phone, by altering some settings on your software.

2, should the issue not be local, then support needs to log the amount of people affected.

Guys this thread appears to be giving the false impression anyone with issues will get free goodies, this is not the case.

As Shade has already pointed out if you're having issues please contact tech support.

I'll lock this thread to avoid any further confusion.
