So that's how they make those little MiG-29s. Aussom.

I think those are SU-27s, not Mig-29s. Although I admit they do look similar.

Little babies don't really look like momma and pappa, but you do have a point -- all these modern SuperFighters -- Russian or Ussian -- all look the same. The French Deltas though, they look different.

Because they're French, duh.

No wonder the French suck at war, they try to be different... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The second one is just a matter of practice and discipline, but the first one http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif the pilots can't even see each other's aicraft http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

With my expert eye, I call BS.. 2 reasons.

#1, check reflections. These are rather shiney aircraft. IF they were TRULY that close, you could catch a glimpse of something in the skin. Nothing.

#2, check for shadows. Again, if they were close, one on top of another, the top one should play some sort of shadows on the bottom. Again, nothing.

I think the photo's are real, but the position may be slightly altered and the aircraft moved closer togeather. A good photoshop artist like myself can do that VERY VERY easy with the clear blue background. Its just too perfect. No clouds!!!

The other explination is the angle of the camera. The two jets may be far appart, but due too the angle, look like they are on top of each other. The Blue Angles use this trick all the time. Yes, they do fly close too each other, but when they pass head on, they can be far appart. Your only seeing the vertical, not the horizontal in these photo's.

So, I in short, I call BS.

Good call. Also, normal untouched photos made from highly zoomed photography of distant objects can make two objects that are seperated along the line of sight to appear to be at the same distance, as the high zoom of distant objects will eliminate apparent size difference caused by different distance. That would also explain any lack of shadows or reflections of one plane on the other, as one plane is well behind the other.

Ditto, with respect to the poster I just don't believe it!! No one is that good to feel confident flying that close, even if your life depepnded on it!

yes, on the second picture the sun is clearly up left and out of the plane of the picture: the elevator of the top plane is casting a shadow on the vertical stabiliser. But the vertical stabilisers of the bottom plane arent casting a shadow on the vertical stabilisers of the top plane.

Both positions are impossible. In the first one the pilots have no view of the other plane and cant judge separation distance (even if it is possible aerodynamically). In the original picture the planes must have been further away and slightly offset, so that one of the pilots (the wingman) could look "down forward" from the cockpit and see the other plane's wing.
The second one is impossible aerodynamically - the bodies of the planes create a narrowing-diverging channel of air flow over the noses-cockpits-bodies (between the planes). That would suck the cockpits into each other.

And its a poor photoshop job on the second picture. Some of the blue "squares" of the sky on the original jpeg are still left on the mid bottom (the original jpeg must have been of lower quality, higher compression)

It's obviously a photoshop, but you should try it in Lomac! There are a few vids around showing this type of flying, and it looks cool!

If you look at the position of the ailrons on the first picture it's clear that the planes are just milliseconds away from disaster, as bot planes are rolling rapidly in oposite directions...

That's an obvious and very easy photoshop. I guess that's already been mentioned.

What's wrong with real pictures, as if aviation doesn't have many to offer.
