Acquired a copy of MA, which is stellar- apart from the lack of trim on slider http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif, and the pukey graphics. Do people here still play it? There are many dead links on simhq, and I'm not sure my cheap edition includes all the documentation. Would also appreciate being able to find some high-res skins. If someone could also nominate a good book or two about the conflict? Off to Hyland's tomorrow.

So is the 4.08 definitely going to be Korea with Il-2 engine?

Many of the aircraft are already included, but I wonder about the high-altitude response with current game.

Or might they have a licence for Mig Alley 2?

You might want to check out this site... Maususer's Mig Alley Stuff.

* Well, I had to have a place for some Mig Alley mods as well. So here you'll find a small collection. Click the pictures to download. I hope these will make your Mig Alley flying more enjoyable. *

Luthier already said that the on the RRG site mentioned "no name" one will be based on the SoW:BoB engine ! not on the il2 one.

anyway, he still not said what it will be actually.
but i could imagine after doing researches about the jets stull for the '46 adon, he already have some for Korean wartime jets........
so, why not.

BUT, not to forget, as it seems SoW:BOB will not be relased much before X-mas 2007 (!) , and perhaps not before early 2008 (!!) - imagine when this "no name" title will be released http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Did he say that did he? Well that's good news (apart from the fact I'll be the other side of 40 before I see it).

I used to play it. It was okay enough. I actually liked the user made Korean War add ons for CFS2 much better.

I don't know where all the links are anymore, though.

Thanks for the heads-up. That's good news, might have to wait a bit longer but the product'll have lots of legs and make some money for the SoW engine. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

You lot already seen this?

4.05 - Pe-2 payware addon
4.06 - Manchuria payware addon
4.07 - '46 payware addon
4.08 - hypothetical final patch to end the Il-2 series.
*** two weeks later ***
SoW:BoB from 1C:Maddox/Ubisoft (Oleg&co)
Unknown Project from RRG Studios/Ubisoft (Luthier&co) (using BoB engine).
Plethora of BoB-engine sims from Everyone And His Dog

I THINK that's broadly correct.

I'm hoping UP is a Korean sim - I love forgotten battles, have never played a Korean War sim, and know that 1C/RRG/Ubi are the best people to do it!

Mig ally was the best possible training for boom and zoom. Whwnever I flew the Sabre I had to repeat over and over to myself "climb don't turn, climb don't turn".

I would love to have an upto date Korea sim just imagime La 9 vs Seafury! Forget jets uber props rule.

Thanks for the clarification and link, missed that thread. Just when I'd found some distraction from the wait... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Cheers, woofiedog- sadly, TIR has ruined most older sims for me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

Prop = poop. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

There's enough in FB to mock up a few situations for Korea- B-29, A-20(pretend B-26), F4U-D, Yak-9, YP-80, P-51, Il-2. Be a bit one-sided, but I can think of half a dozen scenarios.

strike fighters has a couple of good user made adons for korea, and is a very good sim wiht alot of constant user mods. Is actually much beter than cfs2 for jets. Jets didnt act right in cfs2 for some reason (like a lot of stuff), despite the quality of the adons. Strike fihgters is a well made sim and has endless stuff still being made for it. I jsut wish i had time to fly it more.
