Thats look sweet. Any more info on it? A sim? Or just a arcade shooter?

Holy smokes!

That is some sweet eye candy, for sure.

Hmmm... check out what you could play it on. Remind anyone of something?

'Sim' is for simulation. So, no new sim. Just a game with planes in it.

Indeed- pretty planes! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'd be very happy with the sim that comes out that has graphics looking great as you close with the ground. It's to help make landing a little more intuitive (to me anyway).

All very well but someone seems to have mislaid the propellers.

I don't see what's so great about those pictures... the planes are completely out of proportion. Look at the pilot in the Viper, way too big in relation to his plane... also the tail end of the Eagle is all messed up.

Here we go; the snotty nose superiority brigade roll in again - "well you lesser mortals might like it"... "its all eyecandy and no substance"...

It irks me that people can be so narrow minded.

Ever consider actually trying something before jumping to conclusions?

Points to consider;

1) I fly full switch in Il2 - no snobbery just it makes it for me as close to what the real fellows experienced as this limited format allows; tactics and fighting tends to resemble the historical event and part of me loves the tension, and attention to detail that has to observed in flying technicalities and technique.

2) The entire Ace Combat series I have come to know and love because they are simply fun. Swirling 25+ plane dogfights, silly laser toting uberplanes and 60+ missile payloads are part and parcel - its still challenging, sometimes infuriating and definitely not to be taken seriously, but then thats the point.

Ever thought that these games introduce people to a fantastic arena of 3D combat that they might want to investigate further? That todays ace combat pilot is tomorrows Il2 or SoW?

I guess some people here dont remember getting introduced to the flight sim genre; 'Chuck Yeagers air combat' or 'SWotL' are hardly hi-fi sims.

I'm glad but still somewhat surprised to see another one out again considering most console freaks I know barely heard of the series. Our community isnt large and neither is ace combat; surely we should be celebrating our common interest and exchanging experiences rather than belittling something that so few of us have any experience with?

Or is that too high brow for some of you?

+1 Tom. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I have a good chuckle when some ppl think their anal excretement doesn't stink like everyone elses.

Tomtheyak is right on the money. My point in showing those pictures is that, for the first time in my life, a game in the category :"planes that shoot at other planes" got me wondering, for a few moments, if those pictures were the real stuff. I was impressed that a graphic engine was already capable of such details.Even the terrain looks awsome. And the purists may say that looks is not all, but I really hope that BOB
will give me the same impression of "beeing real"... What we saw from BOB up to now, is not even close to that...So lets hope !

I agree, the looks are phenomenal! As for the rest? Unless they port it to PeeZee, I'll never know since I don't own an X-Box.

Well said Tom, thank you.

its getting its own Joystick . game will be available in a bundle purchase (game + JS)

It was Ace Combat that really interested me in air warfare. At the same time, Call of Duty was fueling my WWII intrest. Both collided into a fascination of WWII dogfighting.

Which led to Over G Fighters. As I could not find a good WWII sim, so a jet/half-sim game was sufficient.

Which led to IL 2.

I would love to get back into ace combat. I've spent more time in ace combat 0 than any other flying games put together.

I would suspect that these shots are from some adventure game, take note of the odd, non-USAF markings on the Eagles' wings
