i assume these things are 3/4 scale or half scale replicas - not full size ??

I have always been confused about the perception of the FW-190 as a big, heavy aircraft (like P-47, Hellcat, Corsair, etc.). It was often called "compact" for a reason.

Dimensions are only 34 ft wingspan, 29 feet in length.

Spitfire = 36 ft wingspan and 31 ft in length.

Bf-109G = 32 ft wingspan, 29ft in length.

Hellcat = almost 43 ft wingspan, 33 1/2ft in length.

As you can see the FW-190 was quite small, though it was heavier than those planes (Spit & 109, not Hellcat) but it was also well armed and armoured.

I have a pic with FW-190's flying along Spitifre (Turkish AF used both IIRC), and the Spitfire looks quite large next to it.
