Hi!

I have installed this game from a CD and some days ago i noticed that you're able to type in your installation code on steam so u have the game on your steam library. I just have one question:

If you move the game to the steam library after you installed it on your, does the save data (Singel/multiplayer) dissapear then????

Can't say for sure, but to avoid losing any Saved Game progress, first make a Backup of all your Saves, and then copy them back after you move the Game to your Steam Library, if this method works.

Saved games are usually located under the following default Windows folders. But I'm not fully sure about the Steam's path.

Under Win7 and Vista OS:
C:\Users\<your USERNAME>\Saved Games\Assassin's Creed Brotherhood\Saves

Under Win XP OS:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your USERNAME>\Application Data\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed Brotherhood\Saves

As a side note, also have a look here if using a non-English copy of Windows, or otherwise: i.e. C:\Users\Assassin's Creed Brotherhood\SAVES.

Not all retail games can be activated on steam

Your only option here is to add the game to the library, launch it from there to get the steam in-game overlay(only steam option available to third-party non-steam games)
