Hi,

Saw this card (GeForce FX5200, 128MB DDR) advertised for ~50 which seems reasonable enough even for a tightwad like me.

Anyone using this card and can vouch for it's performance? I imagine it has to be better than my old GeForce 2 MX 400 64MB card..but..how much better?

Who knows - it might even get me back to playing FB as I gave up on the choppy performance even with 512MB system RAM.

Cheers,
Norris

It's better then the GF2, but you should get a GF4 Ti4200 from newegg.com for about $120, and it's a LOT better then the FX5200, which is basically a GF4 MX with DX9. Oh BTW GF4 MX is basically a GF2 with some new features and faster clock speeds (GF3 is better then both).

It's basically a glorified Geforce4 MX with D9.0 capabilities...stay away from it. Stick with the Ti series if you want cheap, reliable cards.

The 5200 is an Awful card...I put one in my sisters computer. Get the 4200, it is much faster.

lol.

5200 and 5600 are both budget cards, and I mean budget. Even the 5600 is too slow to be worth buying. Grab a Radeon 9700 before the 9800s replace them. And don't worry about 256MB cards. That's complete overkill at this point.
