Hi, i just bought pacific fighters and played in a stand alone pf server, and it is really run and i want to get il-2 and the expansion. Today i went to 6 stores and none had the game. I have two options, buy it off http://www.direct2drive.com/genre.aspx?gid=2, for 40 dollars total, OR off www.ebgames.com (http://www.ebgames.com) for 20 dollars total. With direct drive i can get it instantly (not really, first have to dl it which doenst take long for me) or get it off ebgames and pay for shipping and handing and it would come in 3 days. Which option is the best? BTW i don't mind paying 20 dollars extra.

IMO, go for the disc and wait the 3 days.

There are reported problems with patching the box versions of games that are legally purchased over the web. (Just the way it is.)

You're better off waiting for the disks. My friends and I have tried legal dowloading of software and it usually works single player but we've had all sorts of problems playing the game online. You might also want to go to your local ebgames and talk with someone there. The one near me is really cool about throwing games that I'm looking for onto their order sheets so I don't have to pay shipping.

Many people have had problems patching their legally downloaded games up to the current version so they could play online.
