View Full Version : [AC3 R] Aside from lighting, what else was improved graphics-wise?

I only noticed different lighting, a heavy form of subsurface scattering on people's faces and clothes, some fire in general store, but that's it. I know the game was also optimized to run better on 64bit rigs and modern hardware, but aside from lighting, what else was graphically-improved? Polygon count in meshes, textures, LOD/draw distance, etc. stayed pretty much the same.

I hope the next patch reduces subsurface scattering effect on people's faces and clothes. It simply made textures overly smooth, especially the faces...

You can see the full comparison here (https://youtu.be/YfKwS9ebHxA). It's a bit more than you think.

Details are sharper. Things like the embroidery on Haytham's cloak are much, much cleaner and clearer to see. The textures of textiles is better and easier to tell what they are now (Before, deerhide looked like plain cloth, etc).
