Hi,
I'm up to PF merged 4.04 and had everyhing running well. I changed my rear speakers in my 5.1 system and now don't have any communications or music. The message for the communications still shows at the top of the screen but nothing comes through the speakers. I do have engine, flap, gun, etc. sounds but no verbal responses to commands either. Anyone got any ideas ? I sure don't want to reinstall unless I have too !

In the game folder find the conf.ini file and open it notepad. Check the section under the [game] heading for this line:

NoChatter=1

If it's set to 1 like here, you get no AI voices. Change it to 0 (zero) to re-enable your AI squadron mates.

Once you've done that, start the game and from the main menu select Hardware then Sound Setup.

In General sound settings make sure the Music switch is on (in the UP position) and that the music volume is not set to zero.

In the Music sound settings check that the switches for the music you want are on (in the UP position).<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Hi Tully,
Thanks for the quick come back. I tried your suggestions but found that all the extensions were set up properly so I knew that the problem lied elsewhere. It turned out to be a change that somehow was made inside the game under the "Hardware Setup" button. I then went to "Sound Setup" and DISABLED (turned off)Extensions. Everything is working great now. The new Accoustic Research speakers are powered and match my front pair. I guess I could blow out the windows if I wanted to but you sure can appreciate the roar of one of thosed radial engines at high RPM !!

Thanks again,
