I`ve been on the patched FB for about a week now and am gonna post my little personal findings. What`s good and what`s not report. But,,,
You appeared here a few months back when we talking about escaping territory. I thought you were going to make changes to capture and reprimands (even demotions), but most of all Escaping Enemy Areas. I`ve not seen this yet...

Process:

1. Player bails or crashlands in unfriendly territory.

1a. Do NOT have `player captured` leave blank.

2. Player presses Escape to quit and continue with Campaign (as well as Scripted server- where pilots count)

3. Program decides on 50\50 chance whether pilot made it back to base or was captured.

4, On Debrief (and\or scripted server) it says either `Player Captured MIA or Player Succesfully Returned to Home Base, perhaps missing a day or two (or even longer)for Campaign purposes.

Perhaps chance could even be made a little more complex by adding less of a chance if landed near enemy tanks or Air Field.

It also makes more sense because you don`t see the Pilot instantly captured by invisible enemy or blades of grass, you simply get the debrief of it later.

But pilots are still INSTANTLY captured.
You gave the impression you could do this. Perhaps I am wrong (so i`ve petitioned Olegg too). /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif Sorry to bug you.

Good ideas seafire

to add my two cents (and hope this thread doesn't end up as a wish list and detract from the original subject - my idea is kind of on a similar subject)

talking about "demotions"

i accidently shot down a member of my squadron(i was in charge - i am a podpolkovnik - or however you spell it) the other day - his plane crashed and burned - he was killed.
however i recieved no punishment not even a mention of it in the debrief or in the Record of missions.
i really was expecting to be demoted or punished - stripped of medals or something - so i suggest something like this

i) shooting down friendly = one of a few different punishments /demotion/ possibly even being shot ( or however they dealt with it in RL) and a permanent record of it in the record book.

cheers seafire

yep. Shot down (to test) four of my own wingmen. Hit continue on Campaign. Not a squeak. No demotions, not sent to the Gulag- nothing! Just sent on new mission.
