I Just watched a movie called "One minute to Zero" with Robert Mitchum. Well 1950 Korea with Korea war map would be great. North Korea Airforce was Yak9 La5s etc when the war started in 1950. NATO started with the F80 P51 (F51) and corsair (four blade) + B29 etc..have to fudge the models.. no -4 etc etc. but doable.. how about it Oleg....??? Cheers BD.

Can Badsight post a screenshot of F~86 at 10km altitude over the FB map? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Any FB map can be used for Korea.

What we don't have is a 1000km map with many Simplified islands scattered across the map...

This can be done easily if the map makers make...

No Roads (Guadacanal map has No Roads)
No Rivers
No Airfields
No Palm Tree Objects
Simplified Coastline

I turned on the Destruction slider and saw we have hundreds of small villages along the New Guinea coastline...they appear as small light green dots at full FMB Zoom Out. This is a complete waste of development resources, if resources are so thin.

I Destroyed all the green areas in a New Guinea mission file, and after saving the file, the Destroyed objects appear in the mission file. Using the DOS editor's column number display, we count 2721 Objects placed by the map maker...including Palm Tree Objects.

The better the maps the better I say.

Still a Korea add-on could be a money maker:
One new map
A few weapons and ground objects
3 new aircraft
Modified variants of existing aircraft

Thats all that is needed to sell it in stores

I wonder if this can be an obstacle.

€œAbout Pacific on new engine.

Well, it`s going to take 5 years, not less€¦and if plane makers will keep asking this type of money for licensing, any desire to do this disappears.
Our plan is to eventually address all the theaters, but I am afraid that we might have difficulties with American planes.. in my understanding they should be paying us for advertisement of their even outdated , but still good products....€

Oleg has expressed high intrest in doing a jet/prop Korean war sim.
F86 vs Mig 15

But I am sure this is tucked behind many other things on his to do list.

I would like to see this http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Like someone said earlier, there is a greatergreen Korean war map P51/F4U vs La7/Yaks.

You can't sell a Korea combat flight sim.

What you can do is make highly profitable Korea Addon Pac for 1950-1970 combat jet sim that interests buying customers all over the world.

Some theaters that can be explored...

Vietnam 1965-1970
India/Pakistan
Middle East
Western Europe Cold War turns Hot any time 1950-1970

I would love to see Oleg work with the classic strategic SAMS like Nike Ajax.

Good pic badsight/ how ya do it?

i think the Maker said he took the Sabers from another game & edited them & stuck them into a FB screenshot

was posted a looong time ago , before AEP came out , talk was of a DL add-on for FB rather than a disc add-on , then the next game

if i had photoshop id change it to IL-10 (even tho both il2 & il-10 were in Korea)

oh how i wished the korean theater was the Direction Maddox Games chose to follow instead of the beginning of WW2 over again

i mean come on ! awesome scenery , carriers , land assult , the best Prop fighters ever & the Classic Gunzo Jets !

whats not to like in a CFS !

I think I can imagine why the new game still is about WW2 and not Korea, or at least I hope that is the reason:

Fighting with jets, or uber-prop-planes just isn't as much fun as using the good old hard-to-fly and slow early and mid-war planes. I've noticed that in many online jet fights... though it's nicely different, the combat takes far longer, because of the high speeds, and the maneuvers you can do are just too limited to make it equal to low-speed prop fights.

Furthermore something subjective: The jets of that era are the ugliest EVER built, it's like with that Italian G50... it should be forbidden to make an airplane so ugly.

And finally I think this would make merging with IL-AE-PF very hard (because of balancing), yet it'd be quite a shame not to enrich the main game when there already is a decision to make a further add-on.

Late war planes are hardly thrilling, modern jets are just plain boring, it's a stright line this goes.

Badsight.

you can find the same "boring" high speed DFing online right now without a jet engine in sight

the thing is the late WW2 - 1950 Prop planes were the most capable ever , the greatest . & just because there is a Jet engine attached to your plane in no way means you have to stay at high speed

seriously Jet v Jet Gunzo can degenerate low & slow as any Prop fight

& Ugly ? (well ok the migs kinda are) , but the Sabers are all class !

In the beginning of the war, Norht Korea only planes like the Yak-3, Yak-9 La5 La7 etc.

"American calculation showed that the Koreans had 132 combat aircraft including 70 Yak-3, Yak-7B, Yak-9, and La-7 fighters, as well as 62 Il-10 ground attack aircraft. The precise numbers tallied by Soviet advisors were: 1st Aviation Division (1st Assault Aviation Regiment - 93 x Il-10 aircraft; 1st Fighter Aviation Regiment - 79 x Yak-9 fighters; 1st Training Aviation Regiment - 67 trainers, transports, and liaison aircraft) and two aviation technical battalions. Total number of men was 2,829 [10]. The framework of the armed forces consisted of former Soviet aviation specialists and flying personel who had received their training between 1946 and 1950 in the USSR, China, and immediately upon the territory of the DPRK.(2)
In general, and in regard to the DPRK Air Forces in specific during the Korean War, a number of legends have been created. For example, Western experts stoutly support the existence of a DPRK Air Forces Yak-3 regiment manned by women, but at the same time, the only womens' regiment or even flight singled out was a part of the North Korean 56th Fighter Aviation Regiment. Precise information is given as to participation by a number of DPRK Air Forces women pilots. Their literature recalls, in particular, Tua Sen Hi(3),who was commanding a MiG-15 squadron at the end of the war. There is no verified data on any combat operations by any women available in regard to North"

Maybe Mig15 and F86 Sabre. Havent done my resaerch on fast they entered service in Korea. first F86 flew in 1948 i think..The thing about "one minute to Zero" was that Robert mitchum was strafed by a Squad of Yak9's. Korean war bit more compact then WWII. I fly Falcon 4 SP4 and see the same airfields and cities...would be familiar territory for falcon fans.

I agree with Badsight on this one...Anyone who has played Strike Fighters, Mig Alley, know they are fun games, but very very dated. But, sims like LOMAC and especially Falcon SP4.2 BMS2.2 +(hitiles) are excellant sims but have a huge learning curves. Not for kids. I think Oleg does a great job with the P80. So IMO, his outfit would do a great job on early korea. BTW the Sabre is a great looking plane. IMO.

Yeah - a Korean sim would be great! The F-86 just has the "look." Would love to fly it. Seems the Mig-15, on balance, was the more capable fighter though.

I agree geeterman..The cannons in the mig and its excellant perferfomance (great soviet pilots too) made it a somethiong to be feared in Korea.
