Does anyone know if the magnet mod for the X52 stick will work on the X45? Is it the same design under the hood so to speak? I have seen the X52 magnet mod and wonder if it would be the same drill to mod the X45.

No it will not. The X-45 uses pots.. the X-52 uses hall sensors. I have modded both ...

.. but not in the way that you would if you were using the X-52 stick. The X-52 is by far the better of the two for modding.. The construction is more modular and more geared to tinkering. Below are some shots of the guts of an X-52 stick.. I never really messed with the throttle at all as it is a self contained unit and for my purposes all I needed to do was alter the stick.

By the way I replaced my hall sensors with pots for my mod.. The two red knobs are my X & Y pots.. the rudder pot is the blue one... and it is now my rudder trim pot.

Are you talking about the X52 stick with its hall sensors? You found pots to be better than hall sensors?

For what I want to do yes.. I use the pots as .. pots.. I use my MSFFB2 as my stick.. The X-52 stick is a button bay..

Hall sensors only give about 90degrees rotation (unless you build a reduction drive) where pots give at least 270 degrees and can be bought in multi-turn varieties that give even more than that. Bearcat is using the X and Y axes on the X52 for stuff like prop pitch, mixture, trim, etc where the greater rotation is an advantage and the loss of resolution in the small range of motion is not missed.
