Hi everyone, my trigger switch has finally given up the ghost, still a least button 2's still good.

I am sure i remember reading here that someone knew what microswitch was needed. This would suggest that it may be possible to fix my joystick.

What i would like to know if anyone else does, is

1) where i would be able to purchase the switch in the uk.
2) how easy it will actually be to change the switch without wrecking the rest of the stick, ie not being able to put it all back together again etc..
3) if this is a waste of time and i should just go and buy a x52?

To be honest, i've been thinking of getting a x52 for a while, but had alwasys intended to use the ffb2 as the stick, nuts...

any thoughts and advice welcome

I recommend buy X52 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Also a set of CH Pro Rudder Pedals would be good with it.

Someone on the forum had a stock of triggers/switches for that stick but I don't remember who.

X-52 is good stick, but no FFB of course. If you like the FFB see if you can source a switch. In the absence of more complete info here, I'd approach it by removing the switch and taking it to your local component supplier(s) to see if they can help.

You can buy replacement trigger switches at Mouser Electronics http://www.mouser.com
mfg part number is B3M-6009
mouser part number 653-B3M-6009

The switch description is
6mm long stroke Omron Switches - Mechanical Keyswitches/tactile

Or if you don't live to far maybe I can mail you one of the four I'm looking at in a little plastic bag on my desk. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

About two years ago when MSFFB2 sticks were still in the stores I snapped up two of them. One hasn't been out of the box yet. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Good luck in your repairs. It's still the nicest FFB stick I've seen/tried. One of the overall best sticks any category for that matter. (The cougar is nicer for F4:AF though.)

Yeah... and in conjunction with an X-45 it is the SHIZNIT for sure.... I imagine it would work good with an X-52 as well.. but I like the fact that the X-45 has the rudder rocker.. which I use as for flaps on my combo setup.

The X-52 throttle has an extra slider on it that you can directly assign to flaps (as an axis) instead of the keyboard assignments you use BC http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

On the x45 to the right of the rudder rocker you have hat function 3 this is a 4 way hat, I have mine set up so left push selects the left engine and right push the right engine, when selected you can use the throttle to vary power on that one engine only..... after about 5 secs of no use it reverts to powering both engines on the throttle....pushing it down puts the flap down one stage another push another stage etc, pushing it up raises the flap one stage etc............ its a cool setting for it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I can post the in game settings for it if anyone wants them.......

If you dont find any shop to buy new switch, look for a defective mouse or CDROM drive, in these has one or two of this switch. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
U need basic soldering skill to replace.
