i picked this stick up about a week ago and have been putting hrs on it .. my question is the only feed back i get is the weapon firing and buffeting at stall. oh and bumps on ground while taxiing.should i not be feeling aileron and elevator and rudder forces ? at various speeds?

Well, in the rare time it worked for me in FB, I actually felt this. An increasing force was needed to move the joy around it's axis at higher speeds. But I turned FF off. I rather have centering force back than shooting and buffeting feedback alone on otherwise dead stick.

Well, I have removed all functions from my IL2FB FFB folder except for bomb, spring and shake. This eliminates all of the unrealistic effects such as guns and cannons. I believe it also allows you to feel the more subtle forces of flight a little better.

I am using the MSFFB software without problems. I have two different profiles with up to 20 functions programmed to the stick. You can check them out at my website in the downloads section.

Have fun!

I use one, but I don't have the FF function set on in the game, and I have the spring tension set to max on the stick controls. This gives the stick a good solid feel with good centering action, but I don't have to fight the weird forces bouncing me around and throwing off my aim.
