Ok I did some very quick test's and the p40e does seem to be a little better. But the top speed is still way off.

sea level 452kph TAS

5000m 543kph TAS

If I'am correct the object veiw say's top speed should be 539kph at sea level and 583kph at 5000m.

On the up side the roll looks to have been improved but I forgot to time them before 1.1b has anyone got the old roll figures?.

This is not a whine so dont flame me but can you imagine if the K4 was 100kph to slow at any alt the luft pilots would be going nuts.

Please fix my p40 oleg plz.

yea the p40 is a lot better now and dosent stall as often as it used to. but i agree pourshot it still is under its actual speed, but we cant get everything.

I would not say asking for the speed to be improved is to much to ask for after all it's well 0ver 100kph to slow at any alt thats a LOT.

And as for the stall it should be a real b itch from what I have read,So maybe it's to hard to stall now?

I can actually recover from spins now which is great. Before, if I got into a flat spin, it was insta-death.

By the way does this make me the first p40 whinner /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

yea its much easier, if she goes into a spin, depending on my altitude, i just let her spin a bit, and then point my nose to the ground, and the p-40 eventually stabilizes and stops spinning

btw pourshot are you an aussie?

For a moment I thought my flying skill had improved, but your method of recovery is exactly the same as mine.

"dosent stall as often as it used to"

Sure it does, try the p40M

p40E is more stable, p40M is VERY touchy.

Roll rate is still too slow.

p-40's speed is off bad....if those were actual p-40's in the pearl harbor movie, our p-40's are definately fubar. specially on the part of the 50 cal's...both in shred capabilities and in visual on the tracers. what tracers...u cant see em. sad.....gives the german/russian guns tracers that could be seen in a hydrogen blast, but cant see the 50 cals at nite.

I don't think the US used smoke tracers on their .50 cals (but do correct me if i'm wrong on that) so the smoke trails in Pearl Harbor were for effect (it was more of a dramatic movie than a strictly historic one - captured more mood and feel than accurately portrayed the event).

Some of the scenes used real P40's the rest were computer generated and remember that Zero's had no real armor, no self sealing fuel tanks, they were very fragile machines with a high degree of manuverability. So think of that Bf 109 that you just shredded with the 6 .50 cals and think about an aircraft with probably half the protection.
