Hey guys, I was thinkin: will the Ki-84 finally have a home in PF? I ask this because everybody calls the Ki-84 a noob plane in AEP (yes i have been guilty of doing the same thing a couple of times, but now I have learned to respect it, because in the right hands they are very deadly)
But anyway going up against the Corsairs and Hellcats, im wondering if anybody is goin to complain about the Ki anymore, because I don't think they should, especially with PF coming out, because it was most definetly a part of the Pacific Theater on land based operations.
and especially with all the other Ki a/c versions coming out, this is going to be a very interesting game.

I would complain more about the 109Z which never saw service vs complaining about the KI. The Corsair and Hellcat will not be the uber planes everyone is expecting. They still require proper tactics (energy tactics) and if your having a tough time against the KI84 in a P51 right now then your going to have a rough time in a Corsair also. It's all about your tactics.

Good words, VFA-195 Snacky. I`m waiting for all the whines to arrive when people`s fan plane`s don`t do circles around some enemy planes then fly back home in time for coffee! The allies will need to use TEAMWORK - sure proper energy tactics too!

Ki can be beat but too many people play in non cockpit servers with arrows and whatnot. These people have to learn there is a huge difference between the two and how one must apply his or her tactics to survive is different. Fly the FW-190 or P-47D10 in noncockpit servers with externals and icons and then fly it in the opposite. There is really no comparison.
Flying in arcade and full difficulty is worlds apart and has to be considered when complaining that an aircraft is too good or too bad.

If more would fly more difficult settings they would learn that the Ki is not the uberplane they think it is. As far as PF goes anybody that takes the KI out of the planelist when all others are listed, well they are just sissys http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The F4U will match up just fine against it dont worry about that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Heck most of us who fly the JUG 95% of the time have learned the Ki dies easy long ago.

IMHO ofcoarse

Before the Thatch Weave the US planes were extremeley vulnerable to being bounced.

Not many online pilots are inclined towards the close teamwork needed for soemthing like the Thatch Weave sothe Corsairs and Hellcats will probably not do as well as you might initially think.

The P-63 easily pwned the KI84 in the right hands 1 vs 1 since this game was released.

in every 1vs1 ive flown against p63 (me in ki84-b) ive beat them pretty easily. only someone who's 'main plane' is the king cobra will they give me a decent run...
the ki84 (gotta be specific now, with PF coming out and all. i woulda just said ki normally :P) really is a great plane, dives well, climbs well, rolls well, turns well, and has great guns. the only weakness is its lowspeed stability and stability after taking damage, no matter how minor.

another thing is, most allied flyers dont use energy flying. first thing they do is enter a turn fight. if i see a US plane wanting to turn fight me i will just turn with it. depending on the plane and pilot it may take a while but eventually they will have to straighten out and u will be on their 6, for an easy kill.

For offwhine missions, 109Z makes first rate long range high speed jabo that the Me~262 could have been. Excellent long range escort also. For onwhine dogfight, there is no need to discuss "realism" anyway. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great point Havok, many many people fly Ki's with wonderwoman view, I fly 190D's usually cockpit, but if the cockpit option is off, heck why not use wonderwoman view http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
I usually like to fly cockpit. My favorite tactic is BnZ of course, especially with the Dora and the Jug. People with cockpit off in Ki's usually TnB and just spray cannons at ya, thats why I can respect somebody that blasts me with a short burst with the cockpit on.
