Okay, whenever I take off from a carrier, I do all of the procedures and stuff, but when I throttle up my aircraft doesn't move, even after I release the brakes, anybody know whats going on?

You still have the chocks on.

Look under the controls, you'll need to map a key to the wheel chocks command.

This is also in Nuggets Guide but is worthy of a mention in its own right..

It'll help sort out a lot of your flying basics.

The Nugget's Guide will help you a lot. Mentioned in the Guide is my "Straight From the Farm" campaign which shows you how to takeoff from a carrier (included are important little details like chocks). Follow the link below for my campaigns.

How do you download custom missions?
Just installed IL2 1946 but haven't played it yet so I thought I would download these training missions. Thanks again for your help!

Map your keyboard to release "chocks". Mine is CTL-C

Downloading thems no problem, putting them in the right directory is!

Most, if not all of them come with a read me file telling you what to do; but in general they go in C:\programfiles\ubisoft\il-2 sturmovik 1946\missions\single\COUNTRY FOLDER OF THE PLANE THE MISSION IS BASED ON

Reading this thread once again, I remembered one nice function toggle seat position for better visibility once when on deck. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hmmm. Either he figured it out on his own, or he is not used to folks answering things so quickly around here. Man, I LOVE this place. Eleven minutes later, and someone helped this new guy out...and that's a LONG time to wait in this forum http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I know I haven't even played the game yet, but that simply doesn't make any sense.

Surely if he has taken off from an Aircraft Carrier, then the Wheel Chocks have already been removed or else he would never have been able to even start rolling forward.

Would He?

I'm pretty sure he meant "whenever I attempt a carrier takeoff."

No, but i have had my "chocks on" and wanted to look at other aircraft flying around and hit "CTL-F2" which is my enemy AC view, only to come back to my AC and see it a smoking wreck on the deck....and no other planes around...go figure http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif
