Lots of people have been complaining about the recent demo videos from E3. It seems like we have forgotten that there is still a lot of time to finish the game. Adam Sessler from G4 TV puts it best.

Adam Sessler Sounds Off (http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/07/14/sessler-dont-judge-unfinished-assassins-creed/)

By the way, this game will probably one of the best for this year. I am super excited to see the final product.

That is a good idea. I get so tired of reading about all of the complaints, and we all know the game is going to rock.

He is right and I am also annoyed by the fact that everyone is critcizing the game for its small errors. but some of them have a point. The people who are annoyed by the targeting system (not including me) have all the right in the world to complain because...the developers are not planning on fixing that so they are saying change this is looks aweful not omg that guy looks horrible i cant beleive they are giving us a game like this. again I personally think the game is fine and also not all the complainers have the right to complain cuz some of them are just complaining about the stupid little things.

I think that the only problem that wont be fixed is the way it looks when you highlight people. Thats actually a major concern of mine....almost makes me regret pre-ordering this game.

Wow. I don't always agree with Adam's opinions on games, but that's one of the smartest things I've ever heard him (or a lot of other people that exist) say.

Everyboy listen to Adam! Then, let's play Assassin's Creed!

You must not have been listening when Sessler said "obviously there's room for criticism". Like when people are criticizing the implementation of a targeting system that takes away from an immersive experience and is largely out of step with the 1190 AD time frame.

You, like many others, fail to distinguish between people yelling "FIRE" about a simple dead body bug that's easily fixed, and those of us who are trying to communicate our desire for some sort of adjustment to the targeting system. The difference is night and day.

YEah, at first I hated the targetting, but looking back, I think maybe I could come to like it, and think that as long as they give us an option to turn it off, it should be fine.

Your right, there is room for criticism. Thats cool. I myself have my own reservations about the game since seeing the demo, but even within that hesitation I can still tell myself that it is only a demo. If the blue lights are in the game, I will get used to it and it wont detratct from the game for me. I am getting this game because it is something new and different. Nothing else this holiday season really has me excited like this game. I can still remember all of that, even after watching the demo. Some of the other people posting in these forums don't seem to remember while we all started coming here in the first place. To celebrate what will no doubt be a great game.

Here is a visual aid to help remind everyone about the game that got everyone excited.

You Tube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obKnIvxJGX8)

It's a video mash-up of all the great videos used to promote the game prior to the recent E3 demo. There are a lot of fights scenes and not once do we see that horrible targeting system. Now explain to me, what was so wrong with the game that UBI was promoting prior to this latest E3 showing that required them to include a targeting system that is totally out of step with a Crusades era Assassins game?

What was the targeting system last year? Why did they change it? I think these are reasonable questions and from what I can tell from Sessler's Video Rant he would agree.

Do you think the targeting system displayed at the E3 demo this month makes the game look better? I don't see how anyone can watch these promotion videos and think that the introduction of that targeting system was a step forward for Assassins Creed.

Oh God! finally someone officially said this... i was about to rip my head of, seeing all these people critizising AC for things they know much more about then we do! All, or most of the small bugs WILL be fixed, no doubt about it, and the targeting most likely is there for a reason we don't know of yet! Something to do with the sci-fi genetic memory stuff, or... it has something to do with what Patrice mentions in the end of this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgoWQePewAI)!

I'm sorry but GOD!!!

Well I have a feeling that the addition of this targeting system was a necessary update. Back when there was no targeting system one of my first thoughts was how difficult it would be to find out who I was aiming at if they were grouped in front of me. I'm assuming that as they kept playing it they realized some way to distinguish was necessary. Whether they went over board with the targeting system is a personal opinion.

Personally I'm not bothered by it, but I could see how some people would be disappointed by it. I think the big question which would be nice to have answered isn't "Do you like the targeting system?" but rather "What does Ubisoft plan on doing about it?" Do they plan on continuing this targeting system and expecting those of us who don't like it to get used to it, or realize it's importance, or do they plan on optimizing the game for everyone with a simple reduction of the targeting system or a way to turn it off?

Only time will tell, but I do have one thing to ask of you. Don't create three million threads about this like has been happening, and don't invade other threads with the complaints if it's uncalled for. Also, polite constructive criticism is fine, but bashing isn't. I think it would be nice to see some people talking about what they like along with what they don't like. Please avoid some of the blatant bashing posts such as "This game has completely ruined everything it once was, it's a disgrace to games and it's the suxors." Of course that's an exaggeration but I've seen some pretty nasty posts surrounding this. Let's keep it civil.

You know the whole targeting system could be this really cool feature that we have NO idea about yet. It could be something about the memories. Say you kill the guy that you highlight, maybe later you can look back at your memories and replay your kill and watch it again. This of course is just an idea but shows that we can't really judge that quite yet. Especially with it being a brand new franchise and all.

Lots of things about this game is still unknown from the gran public. Once you'll get the whole picture, criticism will have way more sens in my op.
