Is there something I must do to enable the mouse scroll wheel as usable in IL2FB? I've been trying to map it to the trim, as I read elsewhere in this forum, and it sounded like an excellent idea. Sorry if this topic has already been discussed, but the search engine on this forum.... ieeesh.. can anyone get the search to find anything?

never realised you could map the mouse wheel

I got so hung up on trying to map pressing the mouse wheel to one of the buttons, I forgot to try rotating it in the HOTAS section. This is cool! Trying it out for flaps, and liking the extra precision!

I use trim at the mouse wheel. Works fine.

But be sure you map to positive or negative side before flying.

Both.

FB recognises the wheel as a DirectX axis and you can bind it to the HOTAS trim commands at the bottom of the key lists.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there any way to get the mousewheel configured to change the FOV up and down by increments? I've played with the controls for a bit now and I can't seem to work out how to do it.

AFAIK there is no axis control of FOV available. You could do something like binding keys to the up and down motion of your mouse wheel if your driver allows it.

i bound the + and - keys to the FOV increment and also rebound the efault gunsight key to a FOV one step wider

having FOV as a HOTAS selection would be a good, the active camera upgrade for FS2002 allows FOV zooming with a mouse wheel (and mouse panning and also moving about in the cockpit) and it is very intuitive to use

You can also settup prop pitch at the mouse wheel, works great too /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
