Back in the mid '90s there was sim developed for the Mac called "Out of the Sun" It had 3 campaigns, Midway, D-Day, Kursk. The Kursk campaign had some cool planes in it that many people think that were first introduced to digital in Il-2, like the Sturmovik or Pe-2 and such. I was about 5 years old at the time and I remember that the demo was an Il-2 mission and I was like, "what the hell is an Il-2?, Oh, it's Russian, well thats why I've never heard of it" And besides, I thought, attacking tanks with the guns of WWII plane...that's just ludicrous. Well the next week I caught "Il-2 Sturmovik" on the Wings of the Red Star, on the Discovery Channel, not Discovery WIngs, but the Discovery Channel, ya it was a long ago. Any was after that I wanted a decent sim to come out that had the Il-2 in it, A-10 Attack was close (hehe) but still. ANyway, I'm just ranting between calsses and thought you might all like to know that. Good lord that was long post.

With exception of DOS Flanker 1.0, I never bothered with flight sims until I heard about the Eastern Front thing.

To the East, far beyond Berlin, and safely past the barren edge of flight sim maps, the mystic land of Beasts and Dragons hides behind the horizon mist graphics.

...until FB. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

there, I think I got it right now. First inspired by BA_Dart.
